Review by cigares
A light, watery, fruity nose (plum and overripe pear) but without esters. With a kind of unusual roundness for Jamaica and dry grass. The mouth is watery, diluted but the nose profile is found, attenuated. The finish is short, slightly bitter. A rum that must be at least 40 years old and is far from uninteresting.

It was also available at the Markthalle Basel, also for 5 francs. But it's a bit better than the previous one. Here we mainly have overripe tropical fruits on the nose. On the palate, tropical and citrus fruits, but also quite alcoholic.

A rather flat rum with dominant woody tones and light sweetness. Caramel and some spice flash briefly but disappear quickly again. Overall little development and hardly any tension in the progression.

The typical funky Jamaica aromas of (overripe) banana, (tropical) fruits in nose and palate. Similar to Xaymaca, Smith & Cross, Wray & Nephew, but much much milder, although the aromas are still almost equally intense. Exciting combination, really good, especially for the very affordable price. Actually THE Jamaica rum for beginners. Drinks: - Neat: 4/5
