7,1:On the nose, esters and pineapple, banana, Madeira barrel impact and cognac is very strong with dried fruits like raisins, apricots, syrupy, roasted wood notes like caramel, hints of sulphur, leather, molasses, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, dried figs are out, chocolate, roasted nuts and marzipan, spicy allspice, popcorn. 7,1:On the palate, the attack is sweet with Madeira/cognac barrel impact and dried fruits like raisins, apricots, some candied, roasted wood notes like caramel, popcorn, leather, marzipan, slightly sulphurous, spicy with allspice, Jamaican funk participates with glue, esters, tropical fruits like banana and mango, citrus fruits. 6,8:The finish is short, dry and tannic, spicy, smoky, Madeira/cognac is overpowering Clarendon. Round young Clarendon with intense Madeira notes, reminiscent of popcorn and toffee. Round, but overall the Madeira finish is too dominant here and overwhelms the base rum a little too much for my taste...

Die tropischen Früchte sind noch erkennbar, werden aber von satter Süsse überlagert. Ein paar Gewürze, auch herbe Einflüsse, die entfernt an geschwefelte Trockenfrüchte erinnern, sind zwar vorhanden, werden aber von der Süsse dominiert. Leider insgesamt zu wenig ausdrucksstark für eine höhere Bewertung.
