Starts nicely fruity on the nose, unusually pronounced for a Port Mourant, anise slowly but clearly comes through. On the palate, it's typically spicy right away. Lots of licorice. Over time, a bit of honey sweetness develops. Very tasty. The finish is long and warm with a bit of pepper. I also find the alcohol well integrated. For me, definitely worth recommending.

8,4:On the nose, molasses with sweet honey, pencil shavings, vegetal, flowery, dark with licorice, apple(baked) and dried fruits, toasted wood notes with peanuts, spicy, intense, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the molasses is grassy, earthy with tobacco, red fruits fermented, spicy vanilla, allspice, ginger join, pastry, creamy tones. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is dry, complex with candied molasses, sweet with honey, grassy, fresh with tea, dark with licorice, fruits like dried, citrus, yellow and red, fermented, some candied, as the wood is toasted with toasted, nutty, spicy with allspice, vanilla, pepper, slightly burnt. 8,5:The finish is long, balanced, dry&tannic, slightly sulphurous, chemical with phenol, the wood is toasted with caramel, leather, peanuts, spicy with vanilla, pepper, smoky, the molasses is minty, floral, earthy, dark with black tea and the fruits dried, yellow, citrus and green. MMS ultimately gets what you expect but also a bit more. Young Port Mourant with light sweetness and typical Guyana profile, but you feel the youth with little cask influence and low complexity. Certainly good for easy sipping. Alcohol well integrated.

# 31.10.2025 Enjoying a sample with Christian at our hotel while waiting for the wedding. Nose Light wood, dried fruit, light cherry, sweet, round, light licorice, light pencil shavings, faint tobacco, light floral, spice. Palate Warm, balanced, light dry, wood, light roasted, light prunes, anise, peppery, faint caramel, light raisin. Finish Very long and warm, peppery, faint mint, faint caramel, floral, light honey, light cherry. Price to quality is very good in my mind.

I immediately find the PM profile on the palate, but a bit restrained on the nose, with a slight sweetness. On the palate then nicely fruity, the sweetness on the nose comes through only very subtly on the palate. The alcohol is well integrated and really pleasant to sip. So as a Guyana fan I am happy with this SingleCask rum. After re-tasting I go down a few points. I still find it drinkable!

A perfect Port Mourant continental to get familiar with the more robust Guyana profiles. The nose takes a bit of time to fully express itself, but candied and honeyed notes eventually come through, followed by baked golden apple, citrus, and red fruits. The wood blends well with aromas of pencil shavings and tobacco. Spices stand out with anise, licorice, and chili. A vegetal freshness balances everything. A soft and intense profile, quite rich for a rum of this caliber. The attack on the palate is direct, focused on Port Mourant markers: wood (oak and pencil shavings), leather, spices (anise, licorice, chili, pepper), accompanied by herbal and bitter notes. Still, there's an unexpected voluptuousness carried by red and dried fruits, honeyed and sweet notes, and nuts that deliver roundness. It's dry, powerful but rather well controlled. The alcohol is well integrated, though it blows a bit at first. The finish is quite long, dry, and bitter. The Guyana markers come out lighter, with fresher, spicier, and softer notes. A very nice cuvée, typical and indulgent, full of paradox and harmony, perfect to approach the Port Mourant style. The rum is well worth its price, a great opportunity to seize.

The cask bottled here was really a good choice. Besides the expected PM aromatics with notes of honey, banana, spices, and herbs, as well as the woodiness reminiscent of freshly shaved pencil shavings, especially on the palate a surprising, subtle ester kick provides citrusy freshness and invigorating fruitiness. Really fun!

Certainly not a bad rum as it is easy-drinking and sweet, but it probably appeals more to beginners in the cask strength category who previously drank 40% rum (or liqueur). The typical markers are there, but the certain something is missing. The price-performance ratio (at the release price) fits quite well.

Very nice continental Port Moutant. Delivers a rich (comparatively) continental fruit basket on the nose alongside classic PM spices. Black tea with honey. Nicely balanced. Very oily and smooth texture on the palate. Some candid fruits alongside herbs. Intense with a good amount of cask influence.

Typical Port Mourant profile with lots of minerality reminiscent of pencil shavings, plus citrus fruits, pepper, licorice, cask notes, and a bit of sweetness. Great representative of the PM marque and for me so far one of the best Guyanas from the 2010s decade.

On the nose anise, olive, slightly earthy (cellared apples from the cellar), celeriac, bread baking spices. On the palate spicy, vegetable, slightly peppery sharpness, rather short finish. Probably the best 2010 MPM I've had in the glass so far. But honestly, the 2010 MPMs are not delicacies, and now after 15 years the maximum potential is probably already reached.

This rum took for about 20 minutes before it started to open up. On the nose: Woody, honey, light red fruits on the background, pencil shavings, light tobacco. Licorice notes here and there. Intense Taste: Warm, honey, woody, alcoholic, sweet. Light red fruits. Nutty notes. The honey note keeps the palate on slightly on the sweeter side, while the alcoholic note bothers me a little bit. Finish: Warm, light peppery note,earthy, light minty notes. Light honey notes. Maybe a little more barrel influence and complexity would have helped also integration of alcohol could have been a little better. Still quite a easy sipper.

Palette: Fyldig smør fedme, honning, nødder og karamel. Småkage dej og krydret peber. Stenfrugter som mirabelle, abrikos og ferske. Eftersmagen er lang, blød og varm, peberen bliver behagelig dominerende, sødelig af tørret frugt. Glasset: Sødmefuld honning lidt karamel. Smagning “In the bed”

Oh, how I love old Guyana rum because of its eucalyptus-like wood aromas. But wait, this one isn't "that" old and pairs all that with local fruits, honey, and mint. For me, one of the outstanding Rum Club bottlings this year.

Nice nose that starts with apple, acacia honey, and raspberry, and after a few minutes in the glass reveals additional notes of pencil shavings and anise. On the palate, not so varied, dominated by honey, hazelnut, and some wood. Interesting finish with mint and a bit of black pepper. Reasonably priced for PM standards. When the bottle is empty, I'll miss it.

My first proper Port Mourant. Very, very tasty. Unfortunately, the bottle is emptying much faster than planned. With intense caramel notes, it fully meets my expectations; plus there's a slight anise or eucalyptus note. The alcohol is more present than I expected, but far from being unpleasant.
