A wonderfully typical Savanna on the nose and palate. Esters, fruits like strawberries, pineapple, tropical fruits, and solvents are particularly prominent. I also detect milk chocolate, mint and a bit of barrel. A wonderfully warm, long, fruity finish. I simply love Savanna.

#6375 21.02.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a super hard day at the gym. This is one of my favourite Savannas. Great balance, fruity, nice spices and some tobacco. Needs to rest for a while to really open up properly.

Dégustation d'un sample de 2cl. 👃 Forte concentration d'esters typique des Grands Arômes. Vive odeur de dissolvant et puissance des fruits fermentés. Bonbons acidulés, Tutti Frutti, fraises Tagada, yaourts à l'arôme fraise, goyave juteuse, fruits de la passion gorgée de sucre glace 🤯 Les fruits évoluent vers l'ananas surmûri, confiture aux abricots royaux, glace aux combawas. Léger boisé épicé sur des baies roses et du poivre vert. Avec beaucoup d'aération, quelques douces notes d'olive verte, de fleurs d'arbres fruitiers, de feuilles de menthes fraîches écrasées. 😋 Magnifique combinaison d'esters acides, de fruits surmûris et de dissolvants pour vernis à ongles. Aspect très sucré et fermenté sur des Ananas Victoria laissés au soleil, bonbons Haribo arôme banane, fraises Tagada, sensation citronnée sur la cardamome. Essence de bois tropicaux, Fumées, olives noires, poivre rouge. ⛳ Longue, piquante, acide, amère, astringence légère, chaude. Fruits tropicaux surmûris, ananas + fraise, fût + esters, longue sensation pimentée. 🏆 Très bon GA qui rempli tout ce qu'on attend de ces rums longues fermentations. Je souligne l'intégration bluffante de l'ABV. À aucun moment les 60% ne se font sentir. 💡 À mettre en comparaison avec les autres ténors du genre, Madras, GES, Forêt, Lave, Thunderstruck, Chai Humide 8 & 10yo, Chronicles, Belgium Flag, TVRC3...

Nun endlich mal diese neuen Savannas im Glas, vorab sehr enttäuscht das es diese nur in überteuerten Bundels gab und den Preis sind sie meiner Meinung nicht wert. Was jetzt nicht heißen soll, daß dieser schlecht sind, aber nun mal nicht überragend in meinen Augen.

Le nez typique marqué par les esters, le solvant, les fruits. Au début j’étais plutôt parti sur de la goyave, des queues de fraises, mais avec de l’aération il continue de s’ouvrir et la marmelade à l’abricot débarque, aux côtés de notes d’ananas et… de citron vert ! En bouche, les esters submergent à leur habitude le palais, il faut respirer un grand coup et prendre le temps de s’habituer à ça pour décrypter la séquence. Poivre blanc franc à l’avant de la langue, retour puissant sur les fruits exotiques, la goyave, la banane, le tout pétille sur la langue, une impression enivrante, et jouissive, typique de ces GA. Finale chaude, intense, légèrement piquante, qui suit sur les notes de fruits exotiques, un petit retour du vernis, et une note étonnante de chocolat au lait (résultat d’un mélange entre tanins & l’infinie gourmandise des fruits ? bonne question). Impression familière réconfortante & enivrante, entre avalanche d’esters, de fruits, et de plaisir.

Dégustation de 4 samples de cette nouvelle édition Wild. Je suis un grand fan de ce que fait Savanna, de leurs rhums atypiques et variés. J’ai beaucoup apprécié ces nouveaux rhums et je ne prendrai pas en compte le prix exorbitant comparé aux versions précédentes… Avant de me plonger dans cette édition Wild, j’ai fait un tour sur le Savanna Unshared Belgium Mérou, que j’avais noté 8,4, afin de me donner un point de repère. Cette arbre de feu est typique des grands arômes, toujours aussi génial. Des esters, de l’ananas, des fraises Tagada, autant en bouche qu’au nez. L’odeur reste présente dans la pièce pendant longtemps. Il faut le laisser aérer un maximum, car je trouve l’alcool un peu moins bien intégré que sur d’autres grands arômes (ce qui ne gâche pas la dégustation mais mieux vaut le souligner). Le boisé se fait plus ressentir lors de la finale. Comme tous les grands arômes il reste en bouche pendant longtemps, très longtemps : encore une pépite de chez Savanna.

The nose alone makes it clear that we have a Grand Arome in our glass. The whole fruit basket on the palate. Liquid gummy bears together with a little wood stain, then Tictac Wintergreen on the finish. Powerful, for me it is very similar to the Rum Nation Savanna RX7316. Great bottling and definitely the highlight of these new single casks.

Savanna Cross Tasting - November 2025: For me, the Arbre Feu from the new Wild Island Edition is the best bottling in the series. A good grand aroma, with the typical notes of strawberry and pleasant acidity.

05-12-2025 - Rate 8.8 The 3rd. in a line up of 5 different Savanna rums. On the 3rd bottle we are back at a more classic Savanna smell and taste, if you can say so. Nose of tropical fruit, ester and wood. Palate of ester, pineapple, banana and wood. Long finish dominated by wood and tropical fruits.

🇷🇪 Nová Wild Island edice 🏞️🌅🌋🌌 🥃 Black Volcano Cave 🌋 Agricole, 2014, 7 let, ex-cognac, 61% Velmi svěží a živý, trochu travnatý a velmi ovocný po žlutém kontinentálním ovoci, po provzdušnění se více projevuje dřevitost se zemitým kořením a bylinkami. V chuti je agricole DNA znatelnější více. Parádní kousek a pro mě asi největší překvapení série. 🥃 Marine Cave 🏞️ Traditionnel, 2009, 15 let, ex-cognac, 62,6% Potřebuje delší čas ve sklenici, než se pořádně otevře. Pak nabídne bohaté aroma ořechů, lehké praženosti, karamelu, hnědého cukru, koření a dotek chemie. V chuti se přidávají ovocnější tóny. 🥃 Milky Way 🌌 Traditionnel, 2008, 15 let, ex-sherry, 60,1% Čokoládově nasládlý se dřevem a sušenými švestkami a celkově poměrně tmavý s příjemnou vínovou linkou. Krásně plný a hutný jak ve vůni tak v chuti. Závěr je tu ale nečekaně chemicko-gumový (zvýrazněný ještě po zapití vodou). To mi ale nevadí. 🥃 Tree in flames 🌅 Grand Arome, 2010, 13 let, ex-cognac, 60,9% Záměrně jsem si nechal na konec, protože prostě vrchol. Skvělý nos, jak jsme u Grand Arome Savanny zvyklí. Mix sladkého, zralého tropického ovoce (zvláště banánu) a umělé jahody umocněný akurátní dávkou esterů a chemie a kapka toho dřeva a sladkokyselosti. V chuti ta samá nálož ovocných tónů s estery. Celkově to působí jako gumídci. ______ Opět nádherná přírodní grafika, kterou prostě můžu, a opět špičkové rumy, které prostě můžu. A za mě se určitě staví na stejnou úroveň jako předchozí edice.

Nos Intenzivne naplnena mistnost uz pri nalevani. Brutalni bom pari, esterovo ovocna pecicka. Prezraly jahody. Tohle je to, proc savannu milujem. Chut Ohnostroj chuti, cumlam bompar, kterej prechazi z hrusky pres jahodu po flambovanej ananas. Zaver stredne dlouhy, sviravy otevirajici dalsi a dalsi vrstvy ovoce. Nadhera!

Grand Arome mit den eigentlich typische Noten von Früchten, insbesondere Erdbeeren, künstliche Aromen. Im Vergleich zu anderen GA bleibt er jedoch zurück: Alkohol ist sehr schlecht eingebunden, auch längere Standzeit hilft hier nicht viel. Außerdem eine leichte, für meinen Geschmack aber penetrante Bitternote, die ich von anderen GA nicht kenne. Komplettiert wird das Ganze von einem komplett nicht gerechtfertigten Preis für die Flasche. Sorry, aber „Nö“.
