Ripe banana, yellow tropical fruit and prunes lead the nose, with caramelized pastry, chocolate and a little polished oak underneath. Then the Armagnac-and-red-wine finish takes over — that's the make-or-break bit for a lot of tasters. At 60.1% it runs young and a touch sharp-edged, but the alcohol lands surprisingly well-integrated once it opens up. Fruity, wild, and not remotely quiet.

8:On the nose, esters, burnt rubber, chemical, plastic, roasted wood notes, caramelized, chocolate, pastry, spicy nutmeg, citrus fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, cherries, dried fruits and banana arise, cookie dough, caramel and allspice join, flowery molasses. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is medicinal with esters, slightly chemical, sulphurous, with wine hints, the wood is roasted with cookie dough, pastry, roasted nuts, caramelized, spicy with allspice, slightly burnt, fruity with dried apricots, raisins, banana, peaches, citrus fruits and molasses is herbaceous. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with grassy molasses, fresh with tea, flowery with linden, sweet with hints of honey, roasted oak notes and dried fruits, banana. Pretty young and wild... lots of alcohol, prickly sharpness... esters, tropical fruits, dried fruits... reminds me more of a young Armagnac than a Savanna.. The finish is rewarded with some chocolate and red fruits... quite oaky but nothing I'd need a bottle of.

My second Poh of the evening and convincing again. A wild rollercoaster ride of fruity and sweet caramelized aromas, with a bit of wildness and sharpness here and there. When it really hits the palate, it knows how to please =P Thanks for the samples @BananaJoe

A rum with highs and lows. At first I was thrilled: tropical and dried fruits, wood, chocolate and esters. But then the finish comes through, which sometimes tastes like Armagnac, but then again like red wine, which unfortunately is not my thing as a rum finish.

#7210 24.08.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a nice day at work and a fast walk home. Watching Gold Rush on HBO. A very nice rum especially when looking at the price tag. Well rounded profile with nstural sweetness, fruits, chocolate, roastd wood, light ester, spice, warm palate, pastries, plastic, light armagnac.

I think, as has been said, this is a divisive rum. I find it has something, but somehow the Armagnac finish bothers me because the longer it sits, the more dominant it becomes. I'm torn whether it's really that good or bad.

👃 = I've got pastry smells, ripe tropical fruit, prune, chocolate and a bit of woodiness. 👄 = past the lively attack, I have a little fat, some dried fruit and a gourmet warmth right through to the very slightly acidic finish with very well-integrated alcohol. POH! Spirits Adventure has succeeded in its alchemy between rum and barrel rendition to finish the meal with a very pleasant liquid dessert.

You can taste that this is a young, wild rum. Tropical fruit, a hint of vanilla and banana. Nuts and a little bit of chocolate. Also spicy from the esters. The finish is long, slightly dry, and notes of nuts, a bit of honey, and vanilla come to the fore. Nice rum, but it lacks depth or something.

Die Nase dieses Savanna war sehr vielversprechend…Ester, Kirsche und Konfekt.. Am Gaumen erscheinen zudem Kräuter , Piment und minimal Holz. Der Alkohol ist recht gut eingebunden und kommt erstaunlich leicht daher. Der Abgang ist relativ kurz

Pohhhh 🤩🤩 It's really very good. It goes down smoothly. Beautiful basket of fruits.. yellow, tropical and bananas dominating. Caramel and a soft woodiness with some spices. The length on the palate is great, and the alcohol very well integrated.

A Savanna from POH! Spirits. Unfortunately, I couldn't do much with the very dominant finish. First red wine, then towards Armagnac. But overall, red wine was even more dominant. I didn't like it at all. Also spices and some wood.

Phew, so here I fluctuate between awesome or really crap :rofl:. The Armagnac finish is very dominant, I'll let it breathe a bit. Will be a divisive rum :slight_smile: Edit: Leaning more towards awesome :-). A bit sharp-edged but still, I like it quite a lot.

On the nose, tropical fruits and aromas from wine and Armagnac worlds blend into a harmonious whole. Exciting, inviting and pleasant. On the palate, a bit more red wine stands out, but Armagnac is also present. It's a pity the distillate doesn't fully manage to counterbalance this. But anyone who likes red wine and Armagnac will also like this bottling.

Very very big bang for under 70€, this Savanna triple cask has everything of a great! Ultra fruity, beautiful polished & melted wood, a max of citrus, banana, hints of dark armagnacs on prunes and dried dates, esters... superb!
