#7159 14.08.2026 Relaxing with a few rums after a slow week at work and a lot of walking. Listening to some nice trance by Avalon, GMS, Funk Tribu and Vini Vici. Pretty decent rum with an OK price tag at release. Fresh profile with grass, fruits, floral, spice, roated wood, light salt and a bitter palate.

Die Verkostungsnotiz schreibe ich hier erst, nachdem das Siegel schon vier Monate lang gebrochen war, das hat dem Rum wahrlich gut getan… Während die Nase schöne, Marie Galante-typische, intensive Grasnoten verströmt, die in ihrer Intensität auf keine starke Verdünnung des fermentierten Zuckerrohrsafts schließen lassen, konnte das Finish in Port- und Sherryfässern dem Ganzen eine neue Tiefe vermitteln und den Körper erweitern. Im Antrunk gleich nach der Öffnung der Flasche (ich war zu gierig) erst recht rustikal und sprittig im Geschmack, so öffnet sich der Rum mittlerweile recht bereitwillig innerhalb von 15 Minuten im Glas und lässt neben der weiter starken Präsenz von Gras auch Paprika, Grüntee und Olive erkennen, sowie die für das Finish erwartbaren, nussigen Noten. Im Abgang leider zu kurz, das gibt Abzug in der Bewertung. Zunächst probiert (09/25) bei der Whiskymanufaktur Potsdam, dort auch gekauft, verkostet im Laufe 2026
