#5934 08.11.2025 Sample I got from Christian Rudt while attending the wedding of Tom Buteneers in Belgium. Nose Light wood, light roasted, faint smoke, light mint, faint chocolate, faint polish, light orange, fruity. Palate Oily, round, medium peppery, light caramel, light chocolate, dried fruit, faint citrus, naturally sweet, light orange. Finish Medium to long, naturally sweet, light wood, light chocolate, light caramel, orange, light nutts. Empty glass Light mint, light caramel, light chocolate, dried fruit, faint coffee. A very well balanced rum with a touch of spiciness to it. There is a small imbalance on the palate, but still an OK rum.

8,2:On the nose, roasted/toasted oak with chocolate, burnt sugar, smoky, soap and polish, slightly synthetic, minty molasses with tobacco, orange peel and dried fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the molasses becomes thick, syrupy, tons of roasted tones arise like leather, roasted nuts, caramel, confectionery and fudge, spicy vanilla. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is oily, round, but slightly alcoholic with toasted wood, sweet, caramelized, burnt sugar, biscuits, leather, later cocoa, caramel, dark chocolate, some hints if cardboard, spicy with vanilla, fruity with dried and citrus fruits, as the molasses is vegetal with tobacco. 7,7:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, sweet and syrupy with caramelized toasted oak and smoky, roasted notes, metallic patina, dried and citrus fruits, as the molasses brings slightly flowery touch. Thanks to Christian for the sample: On the nose a subtle note of orange and mint. On the palate then warm, round, alcohol well integrated. Subtle sweetness, light orange note and spices. Overall a bit one-dimensional for me though.

Exactly the right one now, this Rumba from Venezuela. It's on the rather sweet side, vanilla, caramel and chocolate can be recognized. But it's also slightly woody and roasted. A great sipper, in my opinion.

Typical South American, with strong wood influence, caramel and dried fruits. On the nose also polish, on the palate spices and something peppery. Alcohol integration fits. Definitely no highlight, but surely good in an Old Fashioned.

Venezuela 15y, unusually much wood and tannins. The alcohol is not perfectly integrated, it seems primarily continental aged and clearly lacks complexity. Aromatically, orange, baking spices, young wood, rather artificial aromas, and maple syrup come together. Not too sweet, more woody and spicy. If you like it woodier, this one will satisfy you.

Well, I got exactly what I expected. Typical representative of the Spanish style, nothing outstanding but nothing bad either. I find the alcohol pleasant for 55%. You can drink it, but you don’t have to.

My experience with the Spanish rum style is fairly limited. This bottling pleases me with its simplicity. Not a rum I would drink a lot because it's not my preferred style. I would have wished for a nice finish here, that could have given the rum a certain extra.

Tasted at Village'26 with Nina at the Jack-Crap stand. A bottling that definitely knows how to please. For the rather not preferred Spanish style by me, still a positive bottling. You get what you expect.

I'll be honest: I don't expect much from Venezuela at first. But when Nina Jack-Crap takes it in hand, I'm interested per se. Fairly produced, very detailed and open communication about the content, that's already a plus. The stuff itself: rather mediocre. A classic Spanish style without special features, plus quite a clear alcohol despite the 15 years. Definitely no knockout for a start, but at least a start. I'm looking forward to everything else that comes from Jack-Crap Spirits!

On the nose, light wood, subtle roasted aromas, some smoke, a hint of mint, chocolate and fruity orange notes. On the palate oily and round with some pepper, caramel, fruity and some orange. The alcohol is well integrated, overall very drinkable and ideal for relaxed sipping in the early evening. All in all, you get exactly what it says on the tin. A rum in the Spanish style.

Great rum from Nina, the alcohol is very nicely integrated. On the nose a hint of caramel and orange peel which carries through to the palate. Nice and round on the palate and the finish very mild and pleasant.
