Another very good Foursquare. This time a representative with dark fruits, wood and a good port wine influence. The alcohol is well integrated and the finish shows even more clearly than the palate in which this rum was stored.

I’m having a bit of trouble unpacking this rum visiting it for the first time with a newly opened bottle. The expected caramel, vanilla, and red fruit notes that you would expect are there, but I’ll need to revisit it to go a level deeper. It lives up to the ECS expectation and is a very good rum.

Quite alcoholic compared to the other FSQs in the range. The typical markers are present from nose to finish. More spices and stronger alcohol in this bottling. Port wine influence slightly noticeable

Blind tasted together with Absolutio, Equidem, and Detente. Very similar to the frontrunner Absolutio with plenty of wood and red fruits on the nose. The other two fall slightly behind in this tasting. Also very intense woody, spicy, and toasty on the palate. Very good!

Ein sehr gut gelungener Rum. Im Geschmack ist er ziemlich süß, mir fast schon zu süß, Holz, Pfeffer und Gewürze gehen dagegen leider etwas unter. Mit Wasser wird er wesentlich besser, öffnet sich mehr und die Aromen finden besser zueinander.

Beautiful Foursquare, high quality as usual. The port finish is well integrated, as usual it gets even better with a little water and opens up. Good bottling, can be bought without hesitation in my opinion, but not a revelation either. Simply "still" a successful Foursquare, not at the level of the Absolutio. Thanks to Jens for the sample and the opportunity!

Wie immer eine gelungene Abfüllung. Die ECS Reihe bewegt sich grundsätzlich auf hohem Niveau. Diese Abfüllung ist im Vergleich allerdings eher am unteren Ende angesiedelt.

On y sent la trame habituelle de foursquare (Coco,vanille, chocolat au lait, ...) mais le porto apporte une touche souffrée et de la fraîcheur fruitée avec notamment le pruneau.

Port wine very present in this ECS bottling. Very drinkable for everybody. I miss a bit complexity compare to some other ECS bottlings, but Mandamus is rather smooth. Good rum
