This 31-year Enmore pours dark and dry: leather, cold tobacco, black tea and prunes on the nose, with roasted wood and licorice building on the palate. Several members flag it as the woodier, more tannic side of the 1994 REV batches — the finish runs long and drying. At 47% the alcohol still shows more than the number suggests.

8,9:On the nose, roasted wood notes like caramel, chocolate, roasted nuts, leather, spicy anise, allspice, herbaceous molasses, fresh with tea, prunes and citrus fruits, glue, round, but intense, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, molasses is vegetal, dark with black tea, thick with licorice, floral, earthy with tobacco, dried apricots, raisins, plums arise, vanilla and pastry join. 9,1:On the palate, the attack is slightly metallic, medicinal with glue, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and apricots, prunes, citrus fruits, grapes, barrel impact is obvious with roasted wood notes caramel, burnt sugar, chocolate, roasted nuts, leather, dry, spicy with anise, allspice, vanilla, molasses is dark with black tea, licorice, thick, herbaceous, flowery with violet, tarragon pops out, earthy with tobacco. 8,9:The finish is long, dry&tannic, slightly coppery, sulphurous, fruity with dried fruits, grapes, molasses is vegetal, floral, earthy with tobacco, dark with licorice, as the oak is roasted, brown with burnt sugar, caramel, chocolate, nuts, coffee, spicy. Mature Demerara with plenty of depth and a clear Enmore/REV signature. Dark fruits, tobacco, tea and a fine herbal spiciness on the nose. Complex on the palate with molasses, spice and prominent wood, but already at the upper limit of what the bitterness allows. As a result, it is not quite as harmonious as other representatives, but the aromatic diversity and long maturation nevertheless ensure an impressive, multi-layered profile despite the low ABV.

The result of a collaboration between The Colours of Rum and Bar 1802, this Enmore starts with a very round and elegant nose, slightly floral and carried by cold tobacco, black tea, and leather notes. The wood is very present but noble, perfectly accompanying winter spices and prunes with its dark notes. A classy and pleasant profile. The palate is marked by strong heat that goes towards spices (chili, licorice, winter flavors), hot caramel, and burnt sugar. The heat then fades and gives way to notes of tobacco, leather, black tea, and prunes. The profile is dark, round, comforting, slightly sweet but very deep nonetheless. The alcohol is still noticeable for the stated ABV, but it’s not unpleasant. The finish is long, dry, and tannic. You find the typical Enmore flavors with all its elegance (coffee, roasted wood, tobacco, leather, spices, burnt sugar, and prunes). A very nice profile and yet another superb bottling for Bar 1802 and The Colours of Rum, raising the bar after the green label batch which was frankly disappointing.

#6283 25.01.2026 Having a few samples while watching an Indian Foodie program. Let me say that now I know where the accent comes from. Nose Round, medium intense, wood, light roasted, leather, plum, anise, herbs, light caramel, faint glue. Palate Balanced, intense, oily, wood, light roasted, earthy, dried fruit, plum, medium dry, cinnamon, light herbal, light chocolate. Finish Very long, dry, wood, roasted, light chocolate, prunes, faint mint. Empty glass Chocolate, light caramel, herbs, tobacco, light leather.

Tasted at Bar1802. Typical REV 94 profile. An old men's aftershave and dried plum. You can smell it for a while.. The 48% goes down well, but very dry and bitter. Then it's very demanding in the mouth. Overall a drinkable, old Demerara. Definitely very good.

For me rather one of the weaker representatives of the 1994 REV. The woodiness is limited despite doubts, but in my opinion the alcohol could be better integrated. Unfortunately can’t keep up with my favorites of the vintage.

Compared to other 94s, this one is already on the woody side. Still very good stuff, not too bitter, but other 94s are fruitier and more intense due to a higher alcohol content.
