Blind, you might not call this a rum at all — a few tasters said it drinks closer to an aged red-fruit eau-de-vie. It's a Guyana 2011 and Savanna 2019 blend at a hot 65%, all esters, glue and burnt rubber up front, then raspberry and strawberry, briny olive, sugarcane and roasted wood. The Savanna funk buries most of the Guyana, and that WTF factor is exactly the point.

On the nose: Sugarcane, burnt rubber, esters, light woody notes and olive notes. Maybe strawberry notes. Savanna rum notes all over, cant find any notes typical to Port Mourant rums even after this rum had been sitting 45 minutes in the glass, but thats not a bad thing at all. Taste: Funky, esters, burnt rubber at first. Then you get light raspberry notes, light berry notes, olive brine notes, light woody notes. Finish: Esters, roasted, light flowery notes and red fruits. Quite dry finish. Medium finish. Its a Savanna forward blend, but that burnt rubbery note doesn't work for me here. Still quite interesting blend.

Now the last 4 Unique Blends from skyfly's Ricci Split in the glass. No. 5, No. 6, No. 7 and No. 8. Here too you can say all are not bad, but none really triggers FOMO in me. Sometimes also a bit too alcoholic.

A really nice blend here, I would have actually said so blind as well, since there is no outstanding feature :) I find it mostly roasty/smoky, but esters, strawberry, wood, and brine are also noticeable.

8,4:On the nose, esters, burnt rubber, briny olive, sugarcane hints, fermented, overripe strawberries, roasted wood notes like burnt sugar, caramelized, smoky, spicy, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, various vegetal notes arise like tomatoes, red bell peppers, soy sauce, thick, some hay, citrus fruits, rotten, pungent, meaty. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is funky, medicinal with esters, varnish, chemical with phenol, rubber is burnt, the wood roasted with caramel, cola, spicy, smoky, marmelade fruits with raspberry, strawberry, yellow fruits are delicious, sugarcane hints pop up again, olive is briny, soy sauce is thick, there is flowery touch. 8,4:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, chemical, medicinal, vegetal, fruity with red, citrus and tropical fruits, with some funk, as the wood is roasted, smoky, spicy, meaty and burnt..

#6999 05.07.2026 Time to relax after my wifes birthday guests have left. Listening nto some nice EDM on Spotify at the same time. A pretty good rum with a nice price tag in my mind. Nice ester profile with overripe fruits, olive, sugarcane, glue, smoke and some rubber.

Famille Ricci Unique Blend X-Tasting #6: a class rum, although besides the Grand Arome or HERR I can't really taste a Guyana. The strawberry/olive aromas with esters and varnish almost overshadow everything else which in the end just tastes awesome.

Cuvée discovered during Spirits in the Sky where I worked for Famille Ricci, not a very objective opinion :) From Guyana with some Savanna, really? That's UNIQUE! The cuvée that made the biggest impact, but also lost 20% of passersby, it's so WTF. A nose that brought me notes of cane, a light brine reminding me of a Clairin, along with beautiful woodiness and grape seed notes – as I often feel with Guyana. This Savanna brings a lot of funk (if there's Grand Arome in the blend, I wouldn't be surprised). On the palate, ultra fruity, almost like a raspberry eau-de-vie, also floral notes. I don't know if I'd think of a rum blind, even if the Savanna would probably have sparked my brain a bit. Finally on an elegant old wood, well blended, and Provençal notes, between flowers and violet (thanks Morgan, I hadn't found the violet, sorry, I'm used to Lille, that's not what you find by our fields ahahah). Exceptional finish, which really perfumes the palate for a good while. Hard to taste anything after that...

A very extraordinary blend with Savanna and Pm. Unfortunately, it is not known whether GA or traditional. But overall a really great blend! Very complex, very harmonious!

Unique Blend 2025 no. 6 – 65% Blend: Guyana 2011 + Savanna 2019 This type of blend is either a hit or a miss... for me, it's a miss ☹ Blind, you would hardly believe it's a rum. It leans more towards a red fruit eau-de-vie aged.
