Glue and overripe tropical fruit lead the nose, but this Clarendon doesn't hit you over the head the way some Jamaicans do. Underneath sit yellow fruit, a little maracuja, toasted oak and a touch of milk chocolate on the finish. At 57% the alcohol reads well integrated — several tasters call it funky but balanced, "loin des jamaicains qui tabassent." Fine and even for a 14-year pot-still ester rum.

#6805 17.05.2026 Relaxing after a little recovery walk after yesterdays gruelling hiking trail. Listening to some nice tracks on Spotify. A nice and intense rum with a nice price tag in mymind. Fruity with esters, pastries, earthy, wood, and some chocolate.

Petite dégustation Precious Liquors du RCS. Un nez bien fruité mais moins ample et plus pointu (alcoolique) que son frère RX23453. L’attaque en bouche est franche et immédiatement aromatique. L’alcool est mieux intégré mais la palette gustative est clairement plus faible. La finale est légèrement métallique mais ici aussi tous les arômes restent longtemps ensemble. En bref un rhum avec moins de petits défauts que son frère, mais nettement moins intéressant aussi.

Au nez c'est délicat, entre fruits exotiques, une belle colle, et l'amande effilée. En bouche, plus acidulé, pétillant, un peu plus exhubérant avec des fruits jaunes et une pointe de maracuja, les épices commencent à venir titiller le palais. La finale est assez gourmande, entre fruits, colle, chêne toasté, épices légers, et une pointe de chocolat au lait. Fin et équilibré, loin des jamaicains qui tabassent !
