8,2:On the nose, strong barrel impact with toasted wood notes like dark chocolate, caramel, confectionery, spicy with vanilla, allspice, dried fruits, herbal, flowery molasses, sweet with with honey, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the wine/cognac barrel impact is even stronger with grapes, raisins, leather, creamy with dairy, peppery. 7,9:On the palate, the attack is sweet honey, flowery, wine/cognac barrel finish and grapes, mirabelle plum, green and dried fruits, slightly mineral, creamy roasted wood notes like caramel, dark chocolate, leather, spicy with allspice, vanilla, on oxidation, sugarcane hints arise, some tobacco. 7,7:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with notes from palate lingering on. Well, I don't know, not an outstanding piece either, I also find the wine finish too clearly recognizable here again. At first it is quite fruity, only with time does a slight sweetness thanks to caramel appear.

So this Planteray collection wasn't that good at all. I've tried all the samples now, but honestly, there wasn't one I'd personally need or recommend. All seem diluted despite the watering down, watered down and still mostly alcoholic with a kind of artificial sweetness.

Quite restrained on the nose, primarily showing caramel, dried fruits, and spicy chocolate notes. On the palate, unfortunately, the whole thing gets a bit out of balance because, alongside more pronounced spices, the alcohol is especially dominant. The profile is overall not well balanced enough and therefore doesn't convince me, especially on the palate.

Ein sample aus der Planteray single cask Serie. Destille Fortin SA, in diesem Fall aus Melasse, Column still. Triple Reifung mit 4y Paraguay, knapp über 1y im Cognac-Fass und schliesslich fast 2y im Chardonnay-Fass. Farbe tiefes Gold. In der Nase zuerst Eiche, Vanille und Karamell. Später kommt leichte Banane und Ananas sowie eine leichte Kräuterwürze dazu. Am Gaumen ein leicht säuerlicher Eindruck, das Chardonnay-Fass ist deutlich schmeckbar. Der Rum obwohl ungezuckert zeigt süsse Noten von dunklem Honig und Anklänge von Orange. Die holzigen Fassaromen kommen eher am Ende und gehen in den mittel-langen Abgang über. Obwohl der Rum kräftig daher kommt wirkt er im Mund irgendwie dünnflüssig. Ich finde ihn deutlich besser, als die Durchschnittsbewertungen anzeigen.
