The nose runs a touch quiet — several tasters say so — but the palate makes up for it: sherry, cane sugar, a bit of caramel and berry. Ramero has made sherry bottlings quite often. However, unlike this time, they were cask strength. One cask should have been left, which is now bottled at 46%. Sherry through and through on the nose, palate, and finish.

#6318 06/08.02.2026 My first visit to The Village in Nuremberg and it was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely attend again as there is more than enough rum going around. Like many of their other releases this one is also pretty good especially when looking at the pirce tag. A nice balanced and fruity rum with some berries, butts and chocolate amongst others.

Right from the nose, I perceive intense aromas of candied fruits, ripe plums, and raisins, accompanied by dark chocolate and a delicate oak note. On the palate, the rum is pleasantly smooth and full-bodied. I taste nuances of dates, berries, cocoa, velvety caramel, vanilla, and nuts that harmonize wonderfully together. The robust 46% ABV provides an intense flavor experience without overpowering the aromas. The finish is medium-length, pleasantly warm and balanced, with a subtle, finely bitter dryness that gives the rum a nice depth. Overall, an aromatic, complex rum with a successful balance of fruity sweetness, spicy notes, and fine bitterness.

Sugarcane & distillation in Guyana and later finished in southern Germany in PX (Pedro-Ximénez) casks. Unfortunately no time indications for both processes. The nose is quite weak, the palate however all the more pleased. The 46% are really excellently merged with the aromas and form a sweet sherry rum enjoyment for beginners as well as experienced “drinkers”. Conclusion: This and Wagemut PX Cask play in the same league. Wagemut with less alcohol is a bit gentler. When the bottle is empty, I will buy a new one :-) .

On the nose, we have a smell of sherry with sweet notes of vanilla. Later, notes of caramel, sugarcane, and licorice develop. The taste unfortunately has a less strong influence of sherry than the nose. The typical taste of Guyana rum is clearly recognizable with light fruit and caramel notes. The 46% is very well integrated and the rum feels very balanced.

For me, one of the discoveries of 2025, usually I'm a fan of Wagemut PX, but here the Guyana with the sherry is clearly more interesting, deeper in taste. Also, it's a proper rum. For me now one of the daily sippers, sometimes available for around 28€
