Underneath sits an oloroso sherry finish that brings prunes, raisins and roasted almonds, with a creamy, oily body. Lots of glue on the nose - almost like a Long Pond TECA. Demerara notes paired with ester and sherry on the palate. Wow, this is really fun. A real experience!

Blind tasting, therefore unfortunately only so not at all meaningful photo. [Update, see note below] And unfortunately also the disappointment of the evening. The rum simply doesn't taste at all, and certainly not like a time-honored Guyana rum. How do the many outstanding ratings come about? A real shame. Update 2024-03-09: Tasted again, this time at the Catawiki stand at the "Pueblo del ron" - and, I'm sorry, failed again. But now I know that I tasted exactly this rum in the blind tasting at the time. It's simply too sour for me. I really wonder what kind of Guyana marque this is supposed to be.

Incredibly good and beautiful Enmore! New cask strength reference for me! Crazy intense Oloroso sherry notes, then after 2-3 drops of water a nice menthol mint freshness, plus honey-banana, Maoam cola blast, Toffifee cream toffee, salted caramel, salty Oloroso sherry nut-raisin notes, and incredibly smooth and fruity, thick and oily. Not too much wood like usual with Enmore and just extremely harmonious! Fat! For a change a successful finish from Rum Nation that doesn't completely dominate the rum. Toffifee remains the dominant note!😄

Thx to Gunnar for this Sample of this awesome guyana! Nose: Glue, nail polish, solvents, some fruits (banana, orange peel), old leather, anise, oak, roasted almonds. Reminds me on a Armagnac. Mouth: round, perfect balanced, fully bodied, sherry, solvents, a lot of dried fruits, old leather, caramel, roasted almonds, anise with perfect integration of the abv. Finish: quite long were you can clearly pick the old guyana notes… with a looooooong licorice note. Yummy

One of my first rums from Guyana. Thanks to @Nonkonform. Back in the glass for a few years now. Wow, what an experience! This rum stands out with not so typical Guyana ester notes. An abundance of fruit, glue, nail polish, wood,... You still get a bit of Guyana. The barrel influence is noticeable in the finish and suits the rum perfectly. This is a terrific rum with a unique selling point! Paradoxically, the price seems to be falling. That's fine by me =D

An excellent rum! The nose just bursts with caramelized fruits! Along with fine roasted notes and oriental spices. The palate is the same! Especially notable are the dried plums. I have the impression of tasting a spoonful of grandma's plum jam. The medium-long finish is perhaps the only 'weakness' of this rum and could be a bit more versatile. Definitely try it if you get the chance!

Glue, ester, some lacquer and tropical fruits are very present. One might think it's a Jamaican. Reminds me a bit of the NRJ Cambrige bottlings with a slight tilt towards Savanna Herr. Overall maybe not quite as brutal. On the palate then super exciting with aromas I can't fully "decode". Tropical fruits mainly in the form of pineapple, something artificial that reminds of chewing gum, some glue in the background. A really good rum! Edit: Now in the glass for the 3rd time and the euphoria has diminished a bit. I still really like the nose, but it loses some points on the palate.

9:On the nose, a glue is the first impression we get, perhaps a nail polish and a banana, roasted wood with toffee, leather, roasted almonds and some spice. On aeration, the rum opens up with dried fruits like prunes, raisins, a molasses is dark with black tea, tobacco, licorice, herbaceous tones, musty.The wood gives us marzipan, mocha and cocoa powder...There is also a presence of menthol and some rubber. 9:On the palate, the attack is delicious with fruit attack-dried fruits like prunes, raisins, red fruits with a cherry, banana and citrus.The wood notes are charred, smoky with nuts, caramel, cocoa, later coffee, leather, in a combo with herbaceous molasses and citrus, cola. Very nice marriage of glue with sherry, herbs and sea salt. I really like it! The crucial question is: how would it be without sherry finish? I could imagine he would go clearly in the direction of Velier Uitvlugt 97 not tropical....

👃 = a certain liveliness on the nose with the sharp arrival of esters, ripe tropical fruits, wood, chocolate, and a vinous touch. 👄 = the attack is lively as well, the heat invades the palate, it lingers for a long time because the finish is very long. We have a rich mix of fruits and spices, especially pepper with a vanilla note. This old Guyanese rum is divisive with its alcoholic character that highlights the esters, leaving behind the fruitiness. We take our time to savor it after several minutes of airing 👍

Wow, what a unusual first impression. Melasse, Ester and a Lot of wood in the nose. After some time it gets spicy and reminds me heavily of Armagnac. On the palate the same, Armagnac with a Rum-Finish. In the aftertaste there is also some Tequilla. And bananas. What is that? A little bit of water is highly recommend, before there where also notes of toilet cleaner and too much nail polish.

Very nice rum, complex and very concentrated. But two concerns that prevent it from being at the top: too much marked by solvents on the nose and why finish in Sherry cask? It doesn't bring anything, it adds other aromas but it was not necessary... I would have preferred clearly without finish...

07.02.2020 Private tasting I was invited to. Notes. Medium to dark in colour. Nose: Fresh, wood, floral, caramel, cherry, herbs, spice. Palate: Oily, wood, round, fruits, berries, light leather, earthy, anise, mint. Finish: Medium to long, wood, mint, anise, orange, light leather.

Short review here: I liked it. Sometimes these Guyanese Enmore are a bit to much on the bitter side, this was OK there and the rest worked well together. Finished the sample in one go...

An interesting one. At first it's all about glue, esters and sherry, a bit chaotic impression, spiciness, wood and dryness in aftertaste. With time and some water esters actually take a fore front and it becomes more Jamaican to me than initially, nose then also becomes more balanced and interesting. Also touch more sweet.

I have no idea what Enmore from this year is supposed to taste like - but what I can taste is vanilla, ester (Savanna/Le Galion style), something, especially in the finish - which makes me think sherry/wine barrel storage, a pleasant sweetness and some acidity, as well as something meaty and smoky - all in all a nice complex rum that I would actually like to have a bottle of at home :3

For my taste, the combination of glue and sherry fits quite well here, but I can understand that the rum is somewhat polarizing. A nice creamy mouthfeel as well as wonderfully integrated alcohol give further plus points. The finish is okay, but not world-class. Overall a really great rum off the beaten path.

The sherry finish is noticeable on the nose, but in a very nice and enhancing way. Rich and complex with the addition of red (dried) fruits. Very nice on the palate as well! rich dried fruits and roasted notes along the lines of chocolate and coffee.

How can this be 58,7% abv?! Dangerously easy to sip. I tried taking a significantly bigger sip than I usually do, and yes, the alcohol is present, but damn what a mild and soft burn it gives, the alcohol integration is 10/10. Instead you are rewarded with an explosion of flavour. Oily, fruity, acidic, woody and full of spices, with smoke and glue in the finish. It resembles a little like a low-mid ester Worthy Park? This just gets better and better for each sip i take.. Definitely worth it's RRP, not easy to find anymore tho.

On one hand, the herbal note surprisingly harmonizes well with the very fruity notes from the Oloroso finish. On the other hand, the finish is too intrusive with sherry for me.

Solid enmore. Sherry heavy and that’s good and bad but a bit one dimensional for me. Nose is light with some caramel and spice. Mouth brings dry elements with fruit and some caramel. Armagnac almost on the mouth here. Finish is nutty with sherry influence and some roasted notes

Blind tasting: Strawberry/raspberry flavors. Artificial. Some port or sherry. Not much in the mouth except fizziness and boredom. Tastes like a steel barrel. Long alcoholic finish.

I'm still looking for the Enmore profile. I clearly went for a jam profile and not Demerara. I would have bet on a long pond blind. Superb product unless you're expecting an Enmore.

OMG this one is weird. Full strength, full taste but something like Beast compared to other Caronis. ... Enmore - drive distillery, now just a functional distillation device. Probably the only wooden distillation device in the world that enjoys great popularity. Enmore rums have flavors of ash, leather, heavy wood, which especially excites lovers of smoky whiskies. And if the producer adds a bit of molasses to the rum in the traditional Guyanese way, you have a unique, very expressive and heavy rum in the bottle. One of my favorites.

The spiciness kills everything. Even after 1 hour of "breathing". That is a pity. I still wonder why alcoholic cask strength produces such a pungency. This is much better integrated in whisky. Not a delicacy. If you like glue, you should drink glue. Of course, you can't blame Demerara Distillers for bad spirit. Too many aldehydes! Methanol? Formaldehyde? Preliminary explanation: maturing conditions at high temperatures. Water evaporates more than alcohol.
