8,3:On the nose, whisky hints, creamy with roasted wood notes like cream toffee, chocolate, fruits like apple, citrus and dried, allspice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the molasses is flowery, yellow fruits join, raisins, pastry, caramel, vanilla, malt, rye notes, perhaps fruit cake and medicinal hints. 8:On the palate, the attack is light and creamy with whisky finish notes, roasted wood with caramel, chocolate, spicy with vanilla, green pepper, allspice, sweet with brown sugar, flowery molasses with honey, fruity with yellow fruits, raisins, dried apricots, grapes and apple. 7,8:The finish is quite short, dry&tannic, buttery with roasted wood notes like butterscotch, pastry, spicy with allspice, fruity with grapes, apple and dried, yellow fruits. Gefällt mir dann auch eher weniger nach dem peated Rum, weil hier ist zuviel Whisky am Gaumen erkennbar. Ansonsten noch recht fruchtig, ich finde Apfel lässt sich hier jedenfalls gut erkennen, aber auch keine Offenbarung dieser Planteray.

Scheint aromatisch recht viel aus dem Ex-Rye-Fass mitgenommen zu haben, jedenfalls finde ich mehr Rye Whisky-typische Noten als von klassischem Rum. Alkohol noch etwas präsent, insgesamt kein schlechtes Produkt, das sich zwischen Rye und Rum bewegt und dem ein oder anderen Ein- und Umsteiger in die Single-Cask-Rumwelt durchaus Freude bereiten könnte.

Heute drei Planteray/Plantation im Glas. Neben diesem zwei Jamaicaner. Dieser Rum aus Paraguay ist 11y gereift und hat ein Rye-Whisky-Finish bekommen. In der Farbe ein schönes Gold. Im Naseneindruck recht zurückhaltend und mehr auf der Whisky-Seite als auf der Rum-Seite. Auch am Gaumen hätte ich blind nicht undedingt sofort auf Rum getippt. Es hat Holznoten und Würze dabei - auf jeden Fall einen prägnanten Whisky-Fass Einfluss. Der Abgang ist eher kurz und unspektakulär. Insgesamt OK, muss man aber keine Flasche davon haben.

Nose : a bit of smoke, but it could be my mind tricking me since I read whisky cask finish. Very whisky. Mouth : alcohol ok, sweet but fresh. Not my type but it drinks well
