Brace for vanilla — almost everyone gets hit by it first, like sticking your nose in a tub of vanilla baking sugar. Underneath there's ester funk (one taster caught early Hampden-style notes that faded with air), tropical fruit, roasted coffee, wood and tannins. The recurring gripe: a synthetic, perfumed edge that never quite leaves. An odd, high-ester Spanish bottling people find interesting more than lovable.

Interessant, aber auf irgendeine Art auch merkwürdig. Das Profil hatte ich bisher nicht im Glas. Ester, Unterschiedliche Früchte und Gewürze wechseln sich ab. Leider schwingt dauerhaft etwas künstliches mit.

Ein recht merkwürdiger Rum. An der Nase werde ich fast ausschließlich von Vanillin erschlagen…aks wenn ich meine Nase direkt in Vanilin-Backpulver stecken hätte. Angangs waren noch minimal erwas Ester, Wachs und Honig erkennbar… Am Gaumen zuerst schwere Süße und Vanille, der dann rasch eine künstliche Note folgt. Etwas Tannine und später Passionsfrucht sind ebenfalls zu spüren. Der Abgang ist bitter, kräuterig und leicht künstlich.

Ohje was ist den das nur? Irgendwie riecht und schmeckt das, als hätte man aus Mamas Backkiste Vanillezucker mit ein bißchen Wasser und Alkohl vermischt. Insgesamt gesehen nicht so der Burner, zum Backen bestimmt nicht schlecht, aber zum trinken nicht.

Ein Spanish Style High Ester Rum. Grundsätzlich eine spannende Abfüllung und auch interessant mal im Glas gehabt zu haben. Nur am Ende ist es für mich die (penetrante, leicht künstliche) Vanillenote eines Diplomatico auf Steroiden. Vanille Overkill mit leichter Esternote und etwas Holz.

Interessant wie sehr sich der Geschmack mit Oxidation verändert. Flasche wurde geöffnet und sofort Anklänge von Hampden. Nach rund 1 Monat ist fast der ganze Ester mit der Hamden DNA verflogen und Backgewürz/Vanille ist geblieben. Schade, zu künstlich/rund.
