On the palate, it definitely has a surprising sweetness for an unsweetened rum. The mouthfeel is a bit on the oily/viscous side. Along with the described spices, vanilla, and caramel, there are also some fruity notes. The finish is long and spice- as well as wood-focused; I find it quite smooth here too, an easy sipper. The relaxed ABV fits well with this.

#6312 06/08.02.2026 My first visit to The Village in Nuremberg and it was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely attend again as there is more than enough rum going around. This is a very decent rum that is floral and ends up a bit like perfume over time. At the same time it is also light and fruity with a good balance overall.

Erster Galapagos Rum für mich. Sehr fruchtig und vor allem würzig mit Zimt, Kardamom und Piment was persönlich nicht so mein Ding ist. Halte den Rum für recht komplex, aber besonders schmecken tut er mir leider nicht.

Dieser Rum entzieht sich einer geschmacklichen Einordnung. Er steht irgendwie und irgendwo zwischen allen Stilen. Hervorzuheben ist, dass an der Nase null Alkohol wahrzunehmen ist. Auch wenn der Rum wahrlich kein Schwergewicht ist, so ist er doch unglaublich süffig. Man hat die Assoziation von gelben reifen Früchten. Und wer dem Geschmack des "Bauerngaumen" vertraut, der sollte versuchen, sich noch eine Flasche oder wenigstens ein Sample sichern. 😉 Mir schmeckt er wirklich richtig gut. Es muss ja nicht immer ein eindeutiger Stil oder ein anspruchsvoller Rum sein.

On the nose, mainly caramel, vanilla, and fruit. I also imagine something floral. Then completely different in the mouth... fruit, apple, sour, but also chocolate and vanilla, especially towards the finish. Exciting!

Galapagos! Ich wusste gar nicht, dass dort Rum destilliert wird. Aber vorweg. Sehr interessantes Profil. Richtig überzeugen kann mich die Abfüllung nicht, aber ich bin gespannt, was uns in Zukunft noch erwarten wird. Für mich am Gaumen stärker, als in der Nase.

Ich hatte noch keinen Rum aus Galapagos in Glas und weiß nicht was mich erwartet... Nase: leicht, fruchtig, Weißwein, süß Gaumen: leicht, pfefferig, ein wenig Frucht, Gewürze Nachklang: mittellang, Tannine, röstig, dunkle Schokolade Nich übel, mal interessant zu probieren, mir fehlt ein wenig Expressivität der Spirituose

Der erste Rum aus Galapagos. Noch nie vorher hatte ich es vorher auf dem Schirm, das es dort überhaupt Rum gibt. Respekt an Dirk, dass er diesen aufgetrieben und abgefüllt hat. Ich mag ja persönlich solche Underdogs. Fazit, ist schon gut, aber hat mich nicht vollkommen überzeugt.

Erster Rum von den Galapagos Inseln. Schöne Mischung aus gelben Früchten, Gewürzen, süße und junges Holz. Es fehlt aber an Tiefe und Komplexität. Für mich ist das Highlight das Logo auf der Flasche :)

Probably the first Galapagos single cask rum. On the nose, it looks like a hybrid of young Agricole and young Antigua/Barbados rum with a slight acidity as if from very fresh virgin oak. The palate is then slightly fruity but also woody and spicy. Lots of spices such as nutmeg, cardamom and cinnamon, as well as slightly smoky aromas... Overall, well-integrated alcohol and mild to drink but aromatically not a miracle of complexity. The finish is a little too bitter and smoky for me, but basically a good rum.

Sehr vielversprechende Nase, aber im Geschmack fällt er leider ein wenig ab und es fehlt etwas an Fruchtigkeit. Bleibt aber dennoch abwechslungsreich. Mit Wasser wird er noch ein bisschen süßer und karamelliger und erinnert mich an einen Bourbon.

Die Nase lässt mich nicht an Zuckerrohrsaft denken. Wenn ich es nicht wüsste würde ich auf Melasse tippen. Gar nicht so einfach zu greifen. Habe mir neben dem Snifter noch ein 1920 Blenders Glass zur Hilfe genommen. Vanille, Karamell, junges Holz und zahlreiche Gewürznoten wie Zimt, Piment und Kardamom. Passt Aromatisch gut in die Vorweihnachtszeit. Am Gaumen hat er durchaus eine erstaunliche Süße für einen ungezuckerten Rum. Das Mundgefühl ist etwas auf der öligen/viskosen Seite. Zu den beschriebenen Gewürzen, der Vanille und dem Karamell gesellen sich hier ein paar fruchtige Noten. Auch diese sind wieder schwer zu präzisieren. Eine spritzige frische Note könnte Stachelbeere sein. Ich habe in Kombination mit den Gewürzen aber auch so etwas wie einen Bratapfel. Der Abgang ist lang und Gewürz- sowie Holzbetont (auch hier junges Holz). Auch Geschmacklich erinnert er mich eher an einen Melasserum. Ich finde keine typischen Zuckerrohrsaftnoten. Der passt bestimmt perfekt zum Weihnachtsgebäck und einem Chai. Ich finde ihn recht gefällig, nichts was jemanden abschreckt oder überfordert. Dazu passt auch das entspannte ABV.

Galapagos, and once again something new, great! Officially distilled from sugar cane juice, this rum is different from the other representatives of Agricoles. Only a slight hint of sugar cane juice can be found on the nose. Otherwise, it is spicy, roasty, with caramel and vanilla and a good portion of cocoa. For me, this is another exciting new discovery that I really like.

An der Nase habe ich ganz klar typische Foursquare Noten. Niss? Holz, Karamell, etwas Kokos. Am Gaumen dann kein Foursquare mehr. Holz und Nuss noch dezent vorhanden. Dazu so etwas wie Zuckerrohr… Der Alkohol ist sehr präsent. Knapp an der 8 vorbei geschrammt.
