Yeah, I guess I somehow checked in the wrong one just now, I think, but whatever. This one is pretty cool anyway, nice sweetness thanks to chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and toffee. It's a really nice sipper.

Tasted at The Village fair 2026. A very interesting rum. On the nose initially spices, some coconut and red fruits. On the palate then vanilla and wood, fruits with cocoa and surprisingly lemongrass with sherry notes. Very tasty for me.

I really like the Dos Maderas bottlings from time to time. Uncomplicated, not overwhelming, just nice sippers. The Origen fits seamlessly into this DNA. I actually find this rum quite complex. On the nose, it comes across classic – vanilla, caramel, dried fruits. If you let it breathe a bit, it opens up even more and reveals gentle coconut notes. On the palate, it starts off very spicy, woody, and dark, with great roasted aromas, dried fruits, and a certain bitterness. The alcohol is clearly noticeable and gives a peppery bite (pleasant!). The sweetness only revealed itself to me after a bit of rest; before that, I only noticed it in the finish under all the dark aromas. My conclusion: A great rum that brought me a lot of joy and is surprisingly complex 🥰👍

Nice and good rum where the alcohol is well integrated and takes away some of the sweetness. Aromas of caramel, dried fruit, and coconut. On the palate, the vanilla comes through with the dried fruit and the sherry cask. I think it has a lot in common with Doorly's 14.
