#6377 21.02.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after a super hard day at the gym. A prett OK release in my mind, but also a bit sub par for a TDL. Wood and ABV is not perfectly integrated, but with some resting it gets better. Nice fruits and the expected mint with some tobacco and ginger in the mix.

Getestet mit zwei T.D.L aus 2000, dem swell und den neuen TWJ. Ja, der Familie Ricci ist ein 2003, kann hier aber definitiv nicht mit den beiden anderen mithalten, da er für mich zu alkoholisch ist. Der TWJ ist im Gegensatz zum letzten Release von ihnen schon ein wenig besser. Als Fazit bleibt, dass der Swell und TWJ, als mich für nicht unbedingt größten T.D.L Liebhaber, gleich auf sind.

Edit: Minze eher im Hintergrund. Wenn das Caronifass etwas bewirkt hat dann das bitterer/dunkler machen. Eine wirklich Aufwertung war es damit in meinen Augen nicht. Sehr guter TDL den ich auf Grund meiner Erkältung nicht vollends bewerten kann. Minze von Nase bis Abgang präsent, ebenso tropische Früchte und Pfirsich. Im Gaumen zudem noch leichte Trockenfrüchte und eine sirupartige Süße. Holz- und Röstaromen gut eingebunden.

This rum did sit in the glass for a good 40 minutes while i was making drinks. On the nose: Pretty mild notes on the nose. Woody notes, roasted some methol and minty notes and also little bit of ginger notes here and there. Taste: Intense, alcoholic. Fruity notes, woody notes, roasted, menthol and minty notes. At first it has syrupy mouthfeel but it changes towards tobacco and little bit of dirtier mouthfeel. This might be the Caroni casks influence on the rum. Finish: Minty notes as the main note, roasted and woody notes. Little bit of vanilla. Integration of alcohol could have been better and stronger notes would have increased the score. The Caroni cask influence was in the background (A little bit)

Bam ! Le bombe franco-belge est là. TDL 2003 finish Caroni, de quoi faire saliver, à un prix très correct pour une collab d'ailleurs. Si le nez est un peu trop sage & gourmand à mon gout, l'intensité est incroyable. Beaucoup plus de fruits tropicaux, d'agrumes, de menthol, et ces notes torréfiées/boisées marquées sur un fond d'essence. Celui qui n'a pas noté ces effluves de Caroni qui transpirent sur la finale ont manqué quelque chose ;)

Ein weiterer 2003er TDL, aber Minze ist hier eher schwach ausgeprägt. Von der Lagerung im Caroni Fass merkt man nicht wirklich was, nach längerer Zeit im Glas hab ich das Gefühl, das ganz im Hintergrund dreckige Noten wahrnehmbar sind, dass kann aber auch Einbildung sein. Ordentlicher TDL, der aber preislich nicht interessant ist.

Ui, mal wieder ein sehr toller TDL von Ricci. Jetzt keine Menthol und Minzbombe, aber intensiv, Full Body mit Ecken und Kanten und schönen Fruchtnoten. Der Alkohol ist toll eingebunden, und je länger er steht desto besser wird. Nur Leder fehlt der Caroni….

Typical TDL with mint, peach, wood. Unfortunately, the alcohol is not so well integrated and the column stands out somewhat negatively. I can't detect anything from Caroni Finnish.
