#7272 02.09.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while watching a Bollywood movie on Amazon prime. Pretty nice LP with an OK price tag at release. Intense profile with overripe fruits, ester, glue, polish, caramel, chocolate, molasses, salt, roasted wood and tannins.

Drunk the first rum at a friend's new house as an opening. On the nose, it is soft, light yellow fruit, a bit nutty, mango, milk chocolate, and floral. The longer it sits in the glass, the more the floral and summer fruit notes come to the fore. On the palate: the yellow fruits again, mango as a sweet note, black tea, and the alcohol is definitely present and stands out in combination with the alcohol percentage of the rum. So it is more prominent. The finish is medium to long. a bit dry due to light cocoa notes and tea. It is a tasty rum, but not complex. And the alcohol is too prominent for me, so for me not optimally integrated. I will try it again to see if it was just that day. But this version is known for being spicy.

Very mixed. At first I hoped for a balanced high-ester LP. But then comes a southern hazelnut rum as you usually know it from the expressive Worthy Parks. So it’s neither here nor there and definitely not worth its price.

Color is quite a light straw. Surprising given the long aging. On the nose, the rum feels fresh, floral with only slight ester notes, which isn’t surprising considering the analytically low ester content. A bit of banana comes through, but overall rather flat with well-integrated ABV. On the palate, it’s clearly better. A nice elegant presence. Also here a floral note, along with nicely balanced spice. It has something in this rather quiet, restrained style. The finish is medium-long on the palate flavors. Compared to the Long Pond variants tasted at the same time with higher ester content (RX15420, RX19574), this is the choice for lovers of elegance. Those who prefer something more complex and louder should go for one of the other two.

Special profile. Floral, milk chocolate, glue and spice on the nose. On the palate, quite a complex profile. Especially pear, cream toffee, green tea, yellow fruits, chamomile. The finish is a bit more tropical. Overall, not much Jamaica but once again an expression of how versatile rum is. Reminds me a lot in taste of the Cadenhead LP 1986.

I wouldn't have guessed LP blind. Quite floral nose with wood and pastry. Stewed mirabelles. All very restrained. On the palate nut-nougat cream with a slight fruit touch. Again floral. Tastes like a mix of Agricole and Spanish style to me.
