Sipped neat, this old Enmore pot-still leans hard into roast — dark chocolate, mocha, espresso beans and a thick, oily body, with tannins and black tea building through a long finish. Thirty-one years in cask make it "deeply woody" without tipping into a plank, though a couple of tasters find the oak and bitterness right at their limit. A big, dry, cigar-box Guyanese for slow evenings.

Grenade! Edit: after I could try it again calmly, it confirmed my first impression. The 31 years in the barrel have not made it too woody or barrel-heavy. Again a very high level that TheRumCask has bottled. Who knows if there won't be a 32-year-old or even older coming that surprises again with its quality.

#7271 02.09.2026 Relaxing with a few samples while watching a Bollywood movie on Amazon prime. Very good REV with an attractive price tag when looking at the year it was distilled. Medium intense profile with fruits, roasted wood, spice, coffee, leather, molasses, licorice, chocolate, light smoke, herbs and light mint.

Blind tasting RX25870 against RX26191 (marking under the glass bottom): The more time passes, the more Distilia (RX26191) separates itself from TRC (RX25870). The latter has the stronger nose at first, but to my mind it's too much, too woody. But if it averages 91 points on RumX, then I give Distilia at least 93, it’s a really convincing REV, with a wonderful espresso note. It was taken out of the barrel at exactly the right time.

Yeah, I would have given it a 9.0 blind as well. Absolutely top rum. It's really a very roasted one, lots of dark chocolate, mocha, and coffee. Also slightly smoky, vanilla and wood are in there too. Awesome stuff.

The latest REV from the Rum cask. Intensely woody, spicy and floral. Violets, licorice, bitter orange, dark chocolate and strong mocha, slightly fizzy in mouthfeel 😄. The finish is already quite close to the edge of woodiness. I'd have to test it again in a direct comparison, but definitely high quality!

The new, 31-year-old TRC 94 Enmore REV compared with the youngest 94 REV I could find from the Guyana sample box, the 27-year-old RC Ed. 22 (which I find extremely good)... amazing how small the differences on the nose are, I wouldn’t have expected that, i.e. the TRC is not at all more cask-driven than the RC (which in turn speaks for the further potential of the 94 REV casks!). On the palate, however, the TRC pushes a bit more with cask/black tea, but all still absolutely in the green zone. Chapeau, once again a very good hand shown!

Very very awesome nose... nicely spicy with chocolate, coffee, dark dried fruits, some leather, oak and vanilla. Alcohol barely noticeable. On the palate: nice thick and oily consistency... red dried fruits, vanilla, mocha, coffee, leather and good roasted aromas. Very harmonious and balanced... I like it extremely much.

Small REV tasting. All tasted rums have a very dark color due to their high age. RX12203: 9.0 Nose: Dried fruits, not too dry but rather fruity. Also a bit of lovage and a nice heavy spice. Palate: Some noble wood, nice spice, dried fruits with heavy sweetness. The finish leaves some wood and leather. Really nice drop. RX17202: 9.0 Nose: Slightly more discreet than RX12203. Heavy sweetness and spice. Palate: Also on the palate more wood and spice than RX12203, slightly bitter, the tannins are more present here. In the finish this nice woody-spicy slight bitterness comes to the fore. At the very end I find some chestnuts. RX21851: 9.0 Nose: Again more sweetness and fruitiness compared to RX17202. Palate: Here only a subtle fruitiness, the tannins are now even more pronounced but not disturbing. I find slightly burnt caramel. The finish leaves a not unpleasant bitterness and at the very end noble wood. RX25870: 9.1 Nose: Subtle. Light, heavy sweetness. Palate: Wow, really full and directly present. Fruitiness, tannins, spice, burnt caramel, slight bitterness all perceptible side by side and all very harmonious. Only the alcohol is slightly more present than in the other TRC, but not disturbing. Also very round and balanced in the finish. The oldest TRC REV is for me also the best. RX12425: 9.1 Nose: Quite red-fruity, not too dry. So far the fruitiest nose. Palate: Wow, really great and full aroma. Red fruitiness, not too dry, dominates. Tannins and a slight bitterness. Black tea and slightly burnt caramel. Also very round in the finish. Distilia Enmore REV 60.2% (no RX number) 9.1 Nose: Very round with fruit and spices. Palate: Full, direct, intense. Fruit, spices, tannins and wood rather subtle. Eternal finish. Awesome stuff.

Malt above all. Old malt, woody malt. No acidity, no overwhelming sweetness. Espresso beans with chocolate. Very nice.

What a great rum! Old cigar box, licorice, figs, dates, cocoa, blackberries - the nose is awesome! On the palate more on the dry, slightly smoky side but very harmonious and alcohol wonderfully integrated. For a long time, a rum that really grabs me again!!
