In advance, I neither like this West Indies style nor peated whisky finishes and normally they barely pass with me. But here, although it is not my case at all, these two worlds harmonize. Alcohol is well integrated and as a mixer surprisingly not so bad. The price more than fair. A divisive rum that could pull whisky guys to the right side.

No, then I really can't do much with it. These peated things are not my thing. Definitely smoke, peat and whisky are recognizable here. Alcohol is quite well integrated though, maybe covered up by the smoky.

Wie man einen Rum so verunstalten kann, ist mir unbegreiflich…da kann man doch gleich einen Whisky herstellen.. ausser Torf, Rauch, Holz und ein wenig Restsüsse vom Sherryfass und das war es…mehr ist nicht übrig geblieben

Uuh…. Was will uns TRC mit dieser Abfüllung sagen🤔 Die torfigen Noten überschatten einfach alles, vom Anfang bis zum Ende… Vom Rum konnte ich gar nichts erkennen. Blind wäre ich nicht mal auf Rum gekommen 😅

Foreword: those who like sherry sweet and peat smoke will be well served here. However, the fact that rum forms the base here (and not whisky) is hardly recognizable in taste. As "rum" therefore in my view complete nonsense: first the sweet PX sherry flattens everything taste-wise, then the peat smoke comes on top.

Ich mag Whisky. Torfig und ohne Torf. Aber als Finish erschlägt es halt jedes Destillat. Gerade bei Rum. So auch hier. Welcher Rum sich hinter dem Torfeinschlag verbergen mag kann ich nicht sagen. Kann man trinken, würde ich aber für mich nicht als Rum definieren. Sorry.

Nice crossover without depth or surprise. But I like the mix of rum and smoke. The alcohol is brutally well integrated, unbelievable that this thing has so much ABV. And at that price you can't go wrong.
