9,5:On the nose, dark, intense, strong barrel impact, roasted wood notes like nuts, leather, winterly, meaty with bacon, thick molasses with licorice, black tea, herbaceous, floral, prunes and dried figs, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, burnt sugar, caramel, dark chocolate, confectionery, spicy with cinnamon, malty, smoky, arise, medicinal, coppery, molasses is vegetal, earthy with pipe tobacco, balanced, complex. 9,3:On the palate, the attack is dark, intense with toasted oak notes like caramel, cocoa, leather, coffee, malty, spicy with anise, salty, smoky, tannic, molasses is dark with licorice, candied, vegetal, flowery with violet, earthy with tobacco, fruity with prunes, cherry, grapes, citrus fruits, slightly metallic. 9,3:The finish is long, dry&tannic, with toasted oak notes, spicy, meaty, fruity with dried apricots, raisins, currants, prunes, citrus fruits, molasses is earthy, floral, dark with licorice.

Very heavy and rich on the nose. Dominated by dark notes with lots of wood, leather and spices. There is a strong Guyana influence to the profile in my mind. In the palate the blend also delivers a rich dark profile. Wood, cocoa and some dried fruits. Some remaining sweetness balances the wood and bitterness pretty well. Very much to me liking. Not quite as good as the Last Consignmet blend imho, yet very good.

Once again an excellent Navy Rum. Absolutely my thing. Very complex, great nose with lots of Guyana influence: chocolate, plum, raisins, coffee and leather. Fruitiness rather on the dark side of the force 😅. On the palate, a great creamy oily feeling. Here too, dark fruits, chocolate, the barrel influence are very clear but surprisingly round and easy to drink. Great rum.

I could bathe in the Navy Rum 😜 incredibly complex, with lots of Maggi seasoning, caramel, cask, pipe tobacco, leather, raisin, dried fig. All underlaid with a slightly smoky note. On the palate also a nice balance of caramel, leather, and toasted cask/tannins. Very well-made 'blend' from the Flagons 1955 - 1969!

What an extraordinary rum. The combination of wood, spices, and some tobacco is well balanced. On the taste, wood dominates at first but is quickly replaced by fruits, dark chocolate, and a pleasant slight bitterness. The finish even turns slightly sweet. For me, a little treasure with only 35 bottles.

It is definitely old blend for first smell. Even for taste. The alcohol is sharp. The taste is complex. Red fruit, brown fruit, cocoa, wood. The type of rum that you want to drink whole night. Unfortunately I know just one man that open the bottle
