Sipped neat with some air, this is a column-forward St. Lucia that keeps surprising people who expect pot-still funk. Nose of nougat, caramel and a strong coconut streak; palate turns roasted and dry with dark chocolate, wood and spice. Several tasters kept comparing it to Foursquare — one even called it a "Foursquare killer." Very woody by the finish, with a faint medicinal, dried-fruit edge.

#6323 06/08.02.2026 My first visit to The Village in Nuremberg and it was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely attend again as there is more than enough rum going around. A really nice rum with well balanced wood and ABV. Powerful and medium dry with some light medicinal notes, dried fruits and faint smoke.

Finally, a great rum. Wonderful nose, definitely nougat and caramel, but also coconut and a bit of wood. On the palate, very roasted, this is a dark rum with lots of cocoa, some coconut and wood as well.

From nose to finish, strong similarity to FSQs. Very woody/toasty, lots of spices and caramel. The dried fruits and banana in the background are personally a bit too weak for me. Alcohol is well integrated if you give the rum enough time to breathe.

Was very curious about the second Chairman's from WDC released from St. Lucia. You can immediately tell that this has a completely different profile compared to the first bottling. Hopefully, a third bottling will continue in the same way. Mission accomplished, I would say. This bottling especially shows vanilla, chocolate (light on the nose, dark in taste), coconut, as well as caramel and spicy aromas. The finish has a noticeably woodier profile. A good bottling, but unfortunately it doesn’t quite hit my taste.

Thanks in advance to AntiSEBtisch for the early delivery of the bottles for the split. After trying this briefly at Village'26, I took some more time to taste it calmly at home. Not bad, but I liked the first one a little bit better.

John Dore/Coffey still blend bourbon Cask without finish. Alcohol well integrated, the John Dore still is more in the background here and is dominated by the Coffey still. Aromatically, you could guess Barbados West Indies or Foursquare with these intense caramel, banana, coconut, and chocolate pudding notes. Unusual but delicious!

Strong and unusual Chairman’s with a great column-forward mix of Coffey and JD1. Very successful, in my opinion. Even though I really appreciate the well-known pot still-oriented Chairman’s, this one is also top-notch. I already liked the Perola and Rum & Co releases with 100% Coffey... but this one is even better. A real Foursquare killer. Please more of this.

Trade fair review Nuremberg The Village 2026: Another very successful bottling from Wu Dram Clan. Very oaky, for my personal taste just on the edge, but also very sweet. I find the strong coconut notes very surprising; the nose first reminded me of a Foursquare.

Nice combination of heavy pot and lighter column notes in this on. This provides a Foursquare-esk profile in the best kind of way , while still retaining recognizable a SLD profile. Coconuts and tropical fruits are supplemented by heavier spices. Very enjoyable.

A bit of lacquer tone at the start, like you know from Foursquare. Then the bourbon barrel and fruity notes come through. Vanilla joins in, along with yellow stone fruit. Very relaxed on the nose, which I really like. Clearly defined, clean structure. As always, give it time in the glass! On the palate, very nicely present, develops a slight sweetness that really pushes the finish.

Completely different from the first WDC Chairman’s. Unfortunately, one has to say. The profile here is more reminiscent of Foursquare, which doesn’t have to be a bad thing, of course. Somehow, though, it feels a bit generic. Lots of vanilla, caramel, spice, cocoa. Alcohol quite present. Towards the end, more wood without that strong bitter finish like the first release. Good, but I have to admit I expected more. Still, objectively speaking, a high level.

Tasted together with the LMDW Vibrations RX17362. Nice, balanced nose. Coconut, caramel, cookies, dried fruits, a bit of glue and spice on the nose. Bold, good alcohol integration. Compared to that, the New Vibrations is wilder, more complex, more funk. Plenty of green apples, nail polish, plastic (but the good kind). Some alcohol. A bit of water doesn’t hurt either. Very bold on the palate, peppery, warm spice. On the finish, oily coconut and caramel. Warm, bold, nice spice. The LMDW is a bit sharp, again nice plastic, pineapple, spice. Funky, bold, alcoholic. Slightly short finish. Same distillery, very different rum. The Wu Dram could pass as a Foursquare, but a good one. The LMDW is a wild, exciting rum and one of the few (slightly) estery rums I like. 85P for both.

I shared the bottle with friends; the initial tasting went well and earned a high rating, but over time it became very harsh though a few drops of water helped so I lowered my score from 8.5 to 8.
