RumX Sample-Set Premium. Now Olli pulls out something somehow incomprehensible :) Anyway, it's a really good rum from Panama, typical for Panama lots of dark chocolate, but also cherry and red fruits are present.

Nice old Panama rum! Nougat, cherry, red berries, vanilla and dark chocolate, as well as intense tannins from the oak barrel. Relatively astringent on the finish. Nice release, which differs clearly from the 2001 Spirit Traveller release. Clearly woodier, drier and less Nutella sweetness in comparison.

Strong cask notes, cherry, vanilla and spices provide a lot of character and depth. It doesn't always seem perfectly balanced, but remains exciting, distinctive and despite an alcohol content of almost 50% quite mild and round.

Seems very smooth and pleasant. Very appealing on the nose, but unfortunately falls a bit short in taste. To me, it seems a bit sweet, although it is not supposed to be sweetened. 🤷♂️ My reference for Panama remains RX 242.

So far I have avoided the Wagemut bottlings because of the strong sweetness. However, I really like this bottling from Panama and it clearly stands out from other rums from Panama because you can taste a nice fruit portion.

Solid bottling from the house of Wagemut. For me, one of the best so far. No intrusive sweetness, but very subtle in the background. Some dried fruit and wood. Light vanilla and spices. Unfortunately, the finish is not quite that long. Alcohol very well integrated.

I came to rum through Nicolas's channel a year ago and am also a member. Unfortunately, I can hardly do anything with the rather sweet creations from Wagemut, even though I really want to. I've tried quite a lot and all are very similar, lots of sherry influence and sweet. But I love this bottling. Not overwhelming but still complex, perfect alcohol, well integrated. The only good rum from Panama I've had so far. I really wish Wagemut would offer more properly aged rum, for which I'd gladly pay 200 euros. The entry-level surely has its justification, maybe a second members-only membership with a more advanced taste would be nice.

On the nose sweet vanilla, maybe with a cherry note. On the palate then a nice deep aroma. It has its certain intensity but never exaggerated or disturbing. Probably should be let to breathe because life is short.

The nose is promising with wood, tobacco, cinnamon, spices. On the palate, unfortunately, it is a bit thin, slightly sweet, but has nice barrel notes; the finish could have the alcohol better integrated. For comparison, I poured myself the Rx22306, which is clearly more intense and complex in taste.

Spanish with a bit more alcohol. Tasty, easy to drink. Sharp medium-length finish. Try it as an Old Fashioned in summer. But not too much. Waste to drink it neat.

I mostly know Panama from Sebastian's Ron Artesano. Always very stable with wood, nut, vanilla and pleasant, light sweetness. No world-shaking or outstanding spirits, but stable and very good. This one hits almost the same notes as Artesano. Lots of vanilla and nut. Intense, with noticeable alcohol note but well integrated. Not spectacular, but simply good and intense, easily cracking an 8.

A nice aged Panama rum. You can tell the long aging in American bourbon barrels. I like the well-integrated alcohol. Vanilla and cherry aromas round off this Wagemut rum. Actually, this rum fits perfectly with the Aficionado series. This 26 would be the perfect flagship of the Wagemut Cigar series.

Very nice Wagemut rum. So far I think the best I've had from Panama. Lots of vanilla combined with other spices, light fruity notes and barrel influence. I like the balance. A few more percent would probably have transferred even more flavor. Still very tasty.

A nice rum, I think the best from Wagemut I've had so far. On the nose, nicely light, fruity, lots of wood and dark chocolate, toffee. Sherry and vanilla notes. On the palate, slightly peppery, lots of wood and sherry. Vanilla, polish, and brine. Nice oily texture. Unfortunately, the ABV isn't very high, but it's gentle and light because of that. The finish isn't very long but nicely fruity, woody, with a bit of bitterness.

26-year-old rum from Panama, aged in bourbon barrels and then bottled at cask strength of 49.9%. The rum is neither sweetened nor colored. The alcohol is wonderfully integrated and carries the aromas far forward through nose and palate.

All Wagemuts I've tried so far were really sweet. That's not bad if you like it and my wife prefers something sweeter than adult, and in the end you can also better offer the sweeter rums when you have guests. However, this one is clearly different and delights me with vanilla and cinnamon, as well as oak on the nose. Taste-wise it doesn't quite deliver what it promises, but I like it clearly better than I expected.

A nicely aged Panama rum, the alcohol is well integrated. The nose isn't very intense, but the rum fully convinces on the palate. Beautifully balanced cask notes, with vanilla, cherry, and spices joining in. Simply a great dram.

Nose not particularly intense, somewhat toasty, chocolaty. On the palate light, chocolate, slightly sweet. Alcohol very well integrated. Very harmonious, the finish is toasty. This rum lives from its harmony and lightness. Overall good. For me, a bit more alcohol wouldn't be bad.

A flavor explosion.. Very intense on the palate. Fruity, sweet. Slightly nutty note combined with caramel and chocolate. You can barely smell orange and pineapple. I would buy another bottle immediately if possible.

A fantastic rum that, with its 26 years, brings a lot of wood to the forefront in the nose and palate. But then cherry and dark chocolate come through, followed by peppery notes and a hint of cinnamon. In the finish, the wood with chocolate stays present for a long time. The 50% ABV is well integrated and invites slow enjoyment.
