Fine, middle-aged Diamond with good ABV. Nose: spicy-malty. Initially, the typical Diamond aromas dominate, like licorice, nutmeg, caramel, and dried apricot. There's even more creamy toffee added. Alongside that, fine mandarin and pencil lead with cardboard. Very pleasant, nothing stings, nicely rounded. 8.5 Palate: very spicy and roasted. Typical Diamond, slightly burnt. At first salty-peppery with nutmeg and caraway. Only then do licorice and a bit of pencil lead come in. Light caramel and bitter orange or bitter orange peel. 8.3 Overall good, but not exciting. The alcohol is well integrated.

Solid Diamond Guyana. For me personally, overall a bit too much on the pencil side but not so extremely dry and a nice caramel note. Alcohol well integrated, mostly tropical aging even though it felt a bit more continental to me.

Needs time in the glass Edit: tasted at Village'26 with the Franconian Tasting Gang. A somewhat "younger" Diamond with a pencil kick. With a bit of time, it opens up a little more. Not a bad deal for the fair price.

#6313 06/08.02.2026 My first visit to The Village in Nuremberg and it was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely attend again as there is more than enough rum going around. A very well balanced release with nice pencil sharpener notes and dried fruit. Hidden in the back is some tobacco and leather notes, but overall the ABV and wood are in great harmony.

Village 2026, beautiful young Guyana with a strikingly light pencil note that reminds me of older examples. Caramel and fruit also come through nicely. The alcohol is well integrated. I grabbed a bottle.

Tasting on 20.07.2026 RX 25889 Guyana Diamond. Gift from Mr. Kevin Sørensen. Glass: Rich honey and yellow fruits, a bit of burnt caramel, pencil note. Palate: Wow, full-bodied and nicely balanced, dried yellow fruits. Caramel, rich spicy honey fills the nose. Nice spicy with green pepper. The aftertaste is fine, no notes stand out, nice balance. Pleasant bittersweet attitude and baked mirabelle, a bit burnt note. Deep pencil note, you hardly notice the cask. Nice licorice, faint orange peel. Light mineral salt. Glass: Sour-sweet pipe tobacco and oak cask. Tasting “In the bed”

Definitely not a bad Guyana, but considering the long aging, not as complex as many other examples. Besides the classic markers, I don't find any outstanding aromas. Alcohol is very well integrated. For me, a good rum for newcomers.

Very nice nose, with lots of fruit and a herbal note. On the palate, you find pencil shavings, caramel, fruit, and a bit of leather.. It's nicely done!! Beautiful length on the palate and alcohol, very well integrated.

This rum did sit in the glass for a good 30 minutes before the review. On the nose: Woody, pencil shaving note being the dominantone, light dried fruit notes. As the rum opens up you get more vegetal and tobacco notes. Taste: Woody, pencil shavings and roasted notes. Light dried fruit notes. Light leather notes. Light caramel notes. Good integration of alcohol. Finish: Woody notes, Pencil shaving notes, light dried fruit notes. Light caramel, light leather and light vanilla notes in the end. Tobacco notes and bitter notes appear to the palate after the rum opens up. Long finish. While the woody notes and pencil shaving notes were the main notes, i think that the dried fruit and caramel notes did did work well with those notes on this rum.
