HoneyBatcher GmbH Bellevue Guadeloupe Rum 1998
Bitter orange, black tea and a herbal, almost medicinal edge — several tasters mention that "sticking-plaster" note over apricot jam, lime and burnt sugar. This is a 28-year-old Bellevue 1998 from Guadeloupe at 54%, and the age shows as wood and spice that stay balanced rather than drying it out. Most find the alcohol beautifully integrated for the strength.

Herbal, orange-and-tea aged Bellevue sipper Widely loved as a high-quality Bellevue 98 — fruity, herbal and well-aged with great alcohol integration. A couple feel the cask is right at the edge or slightly diluted, but sentiment is strongly positive.

Very nice Bellevue 98 cask. Quality is very high as can be expected for the vintage. More in the balanced and fruity side of things while spices and/or wood a present yet not overwhelming. Excellent stuff.

#6324 06/08.02.2026 My first visit to The Village in Nuremberg and it was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely attend again as there is more than enough rum going around. This is a very nice and well balanced rum. Light wood with some orange and plum mingling well with light mint and some rubber and olive. There is a very faint honey note in the background. Overall balance is great.

I wouldn't have thought that anything from this now legendary Batch 1998 would still be found and bottled, but it happened - and how! This rum convinces across the board. For me, it has great lip-licking potential from start to finish (even the empty glass after drinking!), which may come from this wonderful aroma of thickened yellow fruits (apricot jam). I really like rums from Isautier and at first, given this overwhelming fruit note, I thought I had an Isautier in the glass. But enough to make your mouth water, you have to try Fabian's latest masterpiece yourself (I know from a reliable source, more bottles will be available soon 😎). The simple farmer's palate says: Great cinema! Oh, sports friends, and for me, this is also not an agricole in taste, but clearly a molasses rum (there are still doubters ...). 😉

Edit: not just tried once now. And my conclusion is, wow this is tasty. As expected, the 98 vintage is very high quality. Glad Fabi stumbled upon this cask. And corrected upwards without bribery. Very tasty

Hanse Spirit Hamburg February 2026. And then the awesome Honey Batcher from Fabi :) Really a tasty rum, really wow this one, a really good rum, probably made from molasses (thanks Gunnar). Very vegetal and fresh, like most from there.

Very successful Guadeloupe 98. Lots of citrus fruits, dark chocolate, mocha and sea salt with cocoa, a bit of lavender and mint, orange marmalade and vanilla... great balanced mix and alcohol perfectly integrated. Nice one!

After some samples this week - all good but not special - I still need a knockout for the weekend. And this one is a knockout. 28 years old, 98 Bellevue. First Sebastian and then Fabian stumbled upon an excellent cask. Nose: nicely complex and intense, but also fine. Foremost the - for me - typical medicinal note that reminds me of fresh plasters or gauze bandages. Behind that fruity with lime, kumquat, passion fruit and blackcurrant. Also a pleasant sweetness of burnt sugar or caramel. Over time come herbs, wood and some wood acidity as well as chamomile and, with a deeper draw, also some olive. Varied and nice. 8.9 Palate: initially with a salty-bitter start, lime peel. Then immediately comes the medicinal plaster note. Once that has settled a bit, herbs, black tea, pecan nut and caraway find their place. At the back hay and chamomile... and still plaster. Strong, balanced, nice. 8.9

Great rum where fruit and wood aromas, as well as burnt sugar, mint and black tea harmonize wonderfully. The various citrus fruits fit perfectly with plum and peach. The alcohol is very well integrated. But something is missing for a top rating.

Going through my German Rum Festival 2026 tastings. Maybe not the most accurate notes, but i have to say that this rum was one my favorite rums that i tasted on the festival and i bought a bottle on sunday. On the nose: Orangepeel notes, chocolate. Spices. Light caramel. Cherry notes. Light roasted notes. Herbal notes as the rum opens up . Taste: Intense. Fruity. Sour cherry as main note. Orange peel notes. Woody notes. Chocolate notes as you hold the rum in your a little bit. Herbal and minty notes come in in the end. Finish: Herbal, light minty notes. Light fruity notes. Finishes dry and with tea notes Lovely stuff

Ranks among the excellent Bellevue 98s. I have to compare it again directly with the Nobilis (which I rated 89 points).

Nuremberg fair evaluation The Village 2026: The first rum of the day and immediately a pleasant surprise! Very tasty, well-integrated alcohol, not too much alcohol for the age. I like the notes of herbs and black tea.
Review by cigares
Rum tasted at GRF in Berlin in 2026. A rich and dark nose with roasted sides, dry herbs and warm plastic. A well-marked wood without being overpowering and fruits with honey-cooked grapefruit. On the palate, the herbaceous side stands out first, soon joined by bitter citrus and heavy wood that brings a dark side. The finish is long, balanced and also dark with citrus, dry herbs and wood.

Very nice Bellevue 98 cask. The quality is, as expected for the vintage, very high. Rather balanced and fruity, while spices and/or wood are present but not overwhelming. Exciting rum with its own character.

Good Bellevue profile, but it seems a bit diluted. I need to compare with other Bellevues...
Review by Joachim Guger
Awesome label!! True to the name, plenty of honey. Herbs, caramel, light spice. Citrus and vegetal. Good strength. On the palate then lots of orange and herbs. Great finish. Long and warming. Again herbs, oranges and spice. Great 98 Bellevue. Many thanks to Bonn!
Review by Agricoler
Great Bellevue with an incredible amount of barrel influence. In my opinion, just on the edge. Overall a great combination of citrus fruits and vegetal notes like the Black Sea coast and mint. A solid great spiciness is of course also present.
Review by Schnubbii
Nice vegetal-fruity nose with light hints of honey. This continues on the palate even more intensely and complexly, alongside honey and vegetal notes there's also a nice spiciness. Enough depth but not too much, so it doesn't get too academic and remains relatively easy sipping. Nice balance! This one is really fun without being overwhelming. Great bottling once again, which also fits well in the "Honey Batcher" lineup profile-wise.
Review by Dirk Becker
Impressive, complex, everything well integrated, really fun. Despite the considerable age, not too woody! The finish never ends, WOW.
Review by Tomdutchman
Powerful rum. But in my opinion, the 54% ABV is well integrated. Caramel and vanilla are the strongest for me on the nose. The medicinal Leukoplast character is not overdone and fits well with the rest of the flavor. The light oak and even bourbon notes make it a nice drop. Not overly complex but interesting enough and well-balanced.
Review by Buddudharma
Solid 98 Bellevue. For me already close to the limit regarding aging, there are still more balanced and also more pointed barrels. Alcohol integration is top.

GRF 2026: Nice '98, complex and nicely balanced.

Distinct color, distinct slightly citrusy aroma, taste slightly bitter, interesting
