From my point of view, a top value for money. Small, quite unknown Australian distillery, finished in an Australian white wine cask, matured in a tropical climate. You convinced me. Nose: fruity-sweet, distinctly sweet white wine, pear and green apple, sweet candied lemon peel and burnt sugar. Slightly woody, but rather young, maybe slightly resinous wood. Young, sweetish, but anything but unpleasant. 7.5 Palate: the white wine is also very present here. Still feels very young and wild. Initially bitterness of lime peel and sweetness of sugar, the alcohol stings a bit. Young wood and a bacon-like undertone, tonka bean. Pear gains some fruitiness again. I remembered it a bit better and more interesting. Potential is there. 7.3

Hanse Spirit Hamburg February 2026. Probably an unknown distillery from Australia. But really okay. Very spicy and herbal, you can also recognize some barrel influence. Really quite decent this rum.

New distillery that I wouldn't have associated with Australia. The cask selection combined with the aging time has produced a really solid product that offers very good value for money.

Surprisingly round for only 4 years of aging. The bourbon barrel + red wine barrel in the blend comes through with nice spicy tannins and brings rather mineral herbal notes. Reminds me of grappa and amarone barrels. A well-rounded thing!

Tried at Village'26 with the guys from FRC. For 4 years not bad at all, even surprisingly good. When I tried it as a mixer, I even tasted cherry, very crazy. For 50€ you can’t go wrong.

A really interesting surprise. At first, I wondered if it was really aged in wine casks. Adding water made it very clear: grape and wine notes come through. The alcohol tingles a bit, but that's totally fine given its young age.

Tasty rum. Good sharpness. Red wine aftertaste not intrusive. Wouldn't buy it (sample from Nuremberg 2026) but it wasn't bad.
