Hampden Planteray Prestige Cellar (Hot Sauce) 2016
Most people land somewhere between "classic Hampden" and "genuinely wild idea, well pulled off." The nose is pure Hampden — glue, ester, pineapple and banana — then the palate turns soft and slightly oily before a real chili heat builds on the finish. A few tasters barely notice the spice at first; others call the Sriracha-and-Hampden pairing surprisingly natural. Not an everyday pour, more a tasting-night talking point.

Hampden funk with a real chili finish Textbook Hampden funk with a genuine chili kick on the finish. Most enjoyed the odd combo; a couple felt the heat didn't sit right with the rum.

What a crazy combo. The nose is dominated by Hampden aromas. On the palate, surprisingly, there's a super fitting mix of Hampden and Sriracha. The spiciness is especially strong in the finish.

Right after pouring into the glass, beautiful Hampden notes come through. Soft and slightly oily on the palate, with fruit, honey, and then slowly the switch to the finish. The hot sauce is really well done, and the finish definitely has noticeable chili and heat. Definitely not an everyday sipper, but as a tasting experience, it's pretty wild.

The burniness somehow doesn't fit that Hampden :-(
