Wow ! Ich bin überwältigt von dieser Intensität und Vielschichtigkeit ! Nach dem Rare Cask und dem ersten Quincentennial habe ich nicht mehr mit einer Steigerung gerechnet, doch dieser Release ist entweder ebenbürtig oder eine Nuance Spannender. In der Nase breiten sich schnell herrliche Aromen von Holz, Trockenfrüchten, Kirsche, dunkler Schokolade, Leder und Nüssen aus. Röstaromen leiten perfekt zu Lakritze, braunem Karamell, Kardamom und Backgewürzen über. Am Gaumen kommt zunächst eine angenehme Süße zur Geltung, welche dann zu Trockenfrüchten, Holz, Kakao, Leder, Gewürznelke und Vanille übergeht. Lakritze, geröstete Nüsse, dunkles Karamell, Kräuter, Früchtebrot und Kaffee ergänzen die Aromatik zu einem interessanten Spektakel. Der lange und intensive Abgang weist schöne Fassnoten auf. Holz, Dörrpflaume, getrocknete Feigen, Leder, Espresso, Röstnoten und Kakao ergänzen sich nun mit braunem Karamell, Schwarztee und floralen Anklängen. Ich hatte hin und wieder Assoziationen mit Trinidad, Guyana und Mauritius. Mir gefällt der Tropfen sehr, sehr gut. Wie man diese Vielschichtigkeit aus einem Blend von 7 und 10 Jahren holen kann, ist mir schleierhaft. Eine ernsthafte Empfehlung an alle, die guten Rum mögen und der aktuelle Flaschenpreis ist ein Geschenk.😃
