Tasted this rum at my recent visit to the distillery during our VIP tasting with Larry Warren. It’s the third aged rum that’s an entirely SNA product after the 5yo and the 8yo. Larry told us that they by moment also have their own produced rum barreled for 14 years, so there is more to come. This one is really great that I believe should be even better at an higher ABV. The nose is rich, round, balanced, woody, fruity and full bodied with scents of oak, fudge, caramel, chocolate, pineapple, tobacco and cacao. At the palate it’s round, smooth, balanced, oily, sweet, spicy and fruity with flavors of honey, caramel, cinnamon, ginger, peppers, banana and mango. The finish is medium long.
