Nose: Initially I thought caramel and toffee, this is an ester monster. Glue, acetone, mint, a few foul fruits but then clearly those dirty Caroni aromas that we adore so much! Next to that we get fennel seeds and fennel, oak, celery, roasting aromas, tar, old rubber and oil soaked chocolate. Wow! Extremely good stuff. Palate: Very aggressive and direct. The fennel seeds are still there, we get a typical Caroni (tar, burnt rubber, rusting metal), a nice cup of coffee and high quality chocolate. Towards the finish there’s even a slightly sweet note that reminds me of marzipan. Finish: Relatively long with the esters, oak, mint/ menthol, spices from the cask and something close to bergamot. It is crazy how different and, to a certain extent, hit and miss these 2000s are 93/100

Great rubber note. Lacks a bit of depth on the nose though. Very good on the palate without being exciting.

This one was kind of a disappointment for me. If you want to nose it you'll have to wait at least 20 minutes or the alcohol will remove all the hair from your nose. I tried to have a sip after 30 minutes but it still burned pretty bad. After 90 minutes it was still alcoholic, so you will need water for this one. Alcohol is poorly integrated and dominates throughout the profile. The nose is caroni but the palate doesnt match the nose at all. Price to quality is not good.
