"Explosion of yellow fruit and mint" is how one taster put it, and that's the heart of this 25-year TDL from The Whisky Jury. Expect mango, peach, coconut and that signature Trinidad mint, plus light oak and caramelized sugar. Several reviewers loved the fruity, elegant sweetness, but a few wanted more of the "heavy TDL power" the older vintages carry.

Amazing, this new The Whisky Jury, with a nose of very juicy mango, rich vanilla, mint, and peach with a slight caramelized sugar. The palate is even more beautiful. An explosion of fruit and mint. Beautiful and long finish. What a punch!

Ohh, I have to correct my rating, after another 30 minutes in the glass the intensity on the palate is clearly higher, +0.2 25yo T.D.L 2000 vintage, I'm curious! Nose: less intense than expected, a bit of mint, yellow fruits, alcohol clearly noticeable despite only 53.2% Palate: Yessss! Lots of fruity sweetness, mint, tingles on the tongue, very balanced, alcohol noticeable here too but not disturbing, cask influence surprisingly restrained for such long aging Finish: medium length and balanced Very solid and for a T.D.L surprisingly elegant and with nice sweetness, very good rum

A somewhat different TDL, as the smell in particular does not primarily remind you of Trinidad. Here you get a lot of spices and coconut. Also missing is the typical mint-peach-tropical fruit punch, which you only start to taste on the palate.

And lastly today, a really nice T.D.L. Can't complain, mint is obviously noticeable, otherwise we still have a lot of tropical fruits here, you can recognize mango, a bit of pepper and oak are also present.

8,9:On the nose, tropical fruits like passion fruit, coconut, yellow with peaches, melon and citrus like mandarine, minty molasses, fresh, sweet with honey, roasted wood notes like caramelized burnt sugar, roasted nuts, vanilla, fermented notes with creamy dairy, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, it becomes slightly alcoholic, metallic, industrial with petrol hints, molasses is flowery, fresh with tea, herbaceous, banana and currants join, some candied fruits, pastry, biscuits, gingerbread, spicy with allspice. 8,9:On the palate, the attack is fresh with minty molasses, sweet with honey, dark with black tea, fruity with tropical fruits like litchi, passion fruit, yellow fruits like peaches, citrus fruits with mandarine, as the wood is roasted with burnt sugar, caramel, pastry, biscuits, gingerbread, spicy with allspice, peppery, salty, slightly smoky, industrial with rubber, a bit dirty, some fermented hints with creamy dairy join, when oxidation does its job. 8,6:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, with toasted oak notes, nutty, smoky, spicy, fruits like citrus, yellow, tropical, dairy hints, minty molasses and industrial touch with petrol.

Tested with two T.D.L from 2000, the Swell and the new TWJ. Yes, the Ricci family has a 2003, but it definitely can't keep up with the other two here because for me it's too alcoholic. The TWJ is a bit better compared to their last release. In conclusion, the Swell and TWJ are about the same for me, as I'm not necessarily the biggest T.D.L fan.

#1733 27-02-2026 - Rate 8.8 Had high hopes for this TDL. Thay are not fully met. Nice nose and taste. But I’m missing some TDL power and heavy taste. This one is a bit to light for me. Nice TDL, more on the fruity-sweet side. Nice, but I prefer the 2003 and 2009 versions. They have more freshness thanks to the eucalyptus.

I was expecting a lot from this TDL but on the first try, I'm a bit disappointed. Fruit, that's for sure. A touch of mint, woodiness, and spices. It's missing the heavy Trinidad markers. It's quite low in alcohol yet noticeable on the nose. The finish is rather short. I tasted the TDL 2008 from Vagabond Spirit again afterwards, which is my latest TDL crush. We're clearly not playing in the same league...

Beautiful tropical fruits, rather less mint. Very good, but not quite as typical as the mint bombs from the 2000-2003 vintages.

🥃 TWJ – TDL 2000 – 53.2% (🔥 New Release 2026) Here, we step it up a notch. This new batch fully captures the soul of Trinidad: 💥 Explosion of yellow fruits 💥 Ultra complex palate 💥 And still that little legendary hint of Caroni casks in the background A true monster of pleasure. I definitely prefer it over the 52.8%. Result? Bottle bought immediately 😅 And I can only recommend you do the same… 😉

Nose: Lemons, candies, very fresh. Kumquat, marmalade, banana, pineapple, coconut, vanilla, melon, papaya. Some minty, and very delicate industrial note. Palate: Sweety, dirty, marmalade. Overriped pineapple, marmalade, kumquat, mango, banana, papaya, melon, pear, guava. Then, some machine oil, rubber, tar, bitumen. Aftertaste: long, fruity, little bit industrial rum. Conclusion: absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!!!

In today's Polizeiruf, I tried the TWJ TDL 2000 from a split. It smells very fruity right from the start, with a bit of wood coming through. On the palate, the fruit stands out, and it becomes noticeably sweeter and somehow lighter than I expected. Yeah, I missed a bit of power. Maybe my expectations were too high. Still, a great rum!

Tasted at SDR ‘26 The smell from the glass is absolutely lovely, from fresh tree-picked peaches all the way to canned peach juice; and from pancake batter all the way to spongecake soaked in Grand Marnier. In the mouth an elegant balance of juicy peaches, woods and accompanying rancio, bresillienne nuts and a lightly dirty influence of diesel. The taste is fresh and peppery with a clear line of mint and black tea. The finish is reasonably medium long, lightly dirty, but still very fresh, packed with mint and heavy on peach juice and black tea.
