Tasted right after opening. About 15 minutes in the air. I still think that pure Bourbon aging suits the classic Foursquare profile well. On the nose, there’s a certain coolness that reminds me of ice candy. Otherwise, lots of classic Foursquare notes. Lots of caramel and chocolate. On the palate, the Bourbon cask comes through more clearly. Chocolate and cocoa. Plus more roasted notes. This rum is a bit wilder here. More than 58% ABV would have disturbed the alcohol integration. As it is, everything fits. I like it a lot, but it doesn’t really stand out. I think Nobiliary remains my favorite Foursquare with pure Bourbon aging. But the WDC doesn’t have to hide.

Alkohol ca. 55% Nachklang: mittellang, mehr in Richtung Würze, schöne Holznoten, Fazit: sehr guter Rum, Alkohol gut eingebunden, wie bei allen Foursquare (ich lehne mich mal weit aus dem Fenster mit der Annahme) aber kaum unterscheidbar zwischen den Abfüllungen, gehört aber für mich zu den besseren Abfüllungen Auflösung: Foursquare! RX26032 empfehlenswert

Write Foursquare on it and you'll get 8.5+ ratings. This is not a criticism of the community, more an observation. The releases are becoming more generic, more interchangeable in my very small, inexperienced perception. Here stands a Foursquare that, in my opinion, does not completely fit into the usual bourbon-vanilla-coconut mess. It feels sharper, there's a lot of old, heavy wood like oak involved. That makes the rum heavy and bitter - you have to like that and open yourself to it, but then you can definitely have fun! If you can forgive it that sour note at the end - good release. But still not an 0815 Foursquare, in my opinion, and because a bitter aftertaste remains, especially at that price - no. Not 8+✌🏻

A somewhat uneven comparison with the new Velier Foursquare Indomitas. The WDC here was purely in the bourbon cask, which always fits very well. The typical markers are nicely recognizable. Nothing extraordinary in this combo that surprises, but of very good quality. Simply delicious.

#6641 06.04.2026 Tasting with Florian in Blåvand. This is a pretty well balanced Foursquare with nice fruits and coconut. The palate is oily and lightly spicy with a long finish. There is a very faint nutty and caramel touch to the profile.

Endlich mal ein recht deutlich fruchtig-süßer Rum heute, auf den hab ich mich schon länger gefreut, finde ihn echt klasse. Die typische Kokosnuss ist hier sehr gut erkennbar, aber auch Vanille und Karamell sind mit dabei.

This rum opened quite quickly, in about 15-30 minutes. On the nose: Vanilla notes, caramel notes and light coconut notes as the main note. Roasted. Light chocolate notes. Fruity notes in the background. Round. Taste: Woody, coconut, vanilla, light dried fruits, light caramel notes. Quite dry. Little bit of spicy notes. Bourbon barrel influence is present. Finish: Woody, spicy notes from the barrel. Light vanilla notes. Dark chocolate notes. Finishes semi-dry. If you have had Foursquare ECS series rums that are matured only in bourbon cask before, this doesnt really offer any significant changes on tasting notes, but i think this one more easily approachable than the other

A solid Foursquare without any extremes up or down. Personally, I find it a bit too sharp on the palate; I've had some where the alcohol was better integrated. A sample is enough for me here.

At first sniff it seems a bit alcoholic, but it mellows with time. On the palate among other things a salted caramel note, which I haven't had anywhere else. The finish is then characterized by chocolate and burnt sugar.

Finally a different profile. Good balance between youthful freshness and still noticeable fullness. Gummy bears, plus a tart, herbal side. Full-bodied on the palate, with good drinking strength and a powerful bouquet. Chocolatey, mocha, plus again herbal and slightly tart notes. On the finish, peach and yellow fruits. Exciting and distinctive, but in the end not quite my profile 🙃

Small Foursquare tasting - April 2026 The WDC has to face some of the later Foursquare releases from Velier. What I like about the WDC are the clear bourbon notes. But overall it is too simple and too woody for me. Today I like the Absolution best.

The alcohol integration feels better on the palate than on the nose. Overall, a very mature rum that probably shouldn't have stayed in the barrel much longer. A not completely typical Foursquare with a strong cocoa note.
