Tasted right after opening. About 15 minutes in the air. I still think that pure Bourbon aging suits the classic Foursquare profile well. On the nose, there’s a certain coolness that reminds me of ice candy. Otherwise, lots of classic Foursquare notes. Lots of caramel and chocolate. On the palate, the Bourbon cask comes through more clearly. Chocolate and cocoa. Plus more roasted notes. This rum is a bit wilder here. More than 58% ABV would have disturbed the alcohol integration. As it is, everything fits. I like it a lot, but it doesn’t really stand out. I think Nobiliary remains my favorite Foursquare with pure Bourbon aging. But the WDC doesn’t have to hide.

Ein etwas ungleichen Vergleich mit dem neuen Velier Foursquare Indomitas. Der WDC war hier rein in dem Bourbon Fass, was immer sehr gut passt. Die typischen Marker sind schön zu erkennen. Nichts außergewöhnliches in dieser Kombi das überrascht, aber ein einer sehr guten Qualität. Einfach lecker.

Alkohol ist erstaunlich gut eingebunden. Klassisches Foursquare Profil, schön rund, Kolonne kommt wenig durch.

A solid Foursquare without any extremes up or down. Personally, I find it a bit too sharp on the palate; I've had some where the alcohol was better integrated. A sample is enough for me here.

"The alcohol integration feels better on the palate than on the nose. Overall, a very mature rum that probably shouldn't have stayed in the barrel much longer. A not completely typical Foursquare with a strong cocoa note."
