And then another Hampden, even if I repeat myself, lots of tropical fruits, especially banana and pineapple, but esters are also noticeable here. This Hampden was definitely very tasty.
Review by Oliver
At first, it reminds me of the classic Pagos profile. But on the palate, an extremely wild TECA note comes through, meaty, umami, and green apple. It has real power, I like it a lot! 🔥

#6920 15.06.2026 Hike training finished and wife picked up from work, time for some samples and slouching in fromt of the TV. A very nice intense rum with an OK price tag in my mind. Intense profile with overripe fruits, polish, wood, light salt, tannins, caramel and a hint of medicinal notes.

In my opinion, the finish here is very dominant and I personally don't like that. You can recognize a bit of the Jamaican Hampden funk, but not much more. For the price being asked, a Pagos for less money would have done just as well.
Review by Skyfly
Interesting C<>H, where you can really feel a strong cask influence starting from the palate. Umami and a bit of meatiness combined with esters, tropical fruits, and a light red wine note linger quite long in the finish. After spending more time in the glass, I have to say I like it more and more.

Insanely great and surprisingly smooth Hampden for such a young age! The sherry influence is pleasantly not too dominant; I would guess Oloroso or Amontillado because of the nutty and salty aromas. Very fitting funky and fruity as well as slightly meaty/umami. Nice one! For 64%, the alcohol is brutally well integrated!

Funnily enough, I have had another chance to taste this rum almost 3 years ago. Last day of Whisky Live Paris 2023, Luca Gargano Masterclass about sherry aged Hampden, and one of the samples was exactly this one, C<>H 2021 Barrel #C. Not my favourite of the masterclass thou. Little Memory of the profile, but for sure nowadays is a completely different beast. The esters are really heavy and on the nose they hit your nostrils. Only later come some really red fruit marmelade, a bit "hogo". Rotting fruit and meat dominate the palate, with the esters that despite the level, struggle in showing up. Nice rum, good complexity and a neverending finish, clearly the best ex sherry Hampden so far

I really love Hampden, and I think this is another cracker. Delightfully funky, fruity like overripe banana and pineapple with a slight sweetness. Lovely long finish. For me, this is a great success.

At first, a bit of an acquired taste. A somewhat strange cask influence from the sherry barrel with meaty notes. Overall very good, but a bit special.

Ganz okay. Aber zu jung und bisschen kantig
Review by Leo Krüper
Review by Davide Zuin
Very intense from start to finish. The nose is empyreumatic, with burnt rubber notes, almost rotting fruit, orange preserve and raisins from sherry cask. The mouth is pungent and intense, the finish is long and slightly bitter. This is nothing like the pagos.
