Really finely balanced, yet bold blend with clear low-ester notes and very good alcohol integration, whose exact composition is actually known by only one person. After tasting on different days, I would guess New Yarmouth and St. Lucia as components, but there could also be at least one Agricole woven in, maybe from Guadeloupe? I'm very curious about the announced reveal after about 6 months.

Very exciting, a forced blind tasting, good idea! Nose: very funky (Jamaica/Mhoba), yellow fruits, a hint of Agricole? Other aromas in the background but hard to get past the glue and even harder to assign. Palate: very drinkable, very balanced and complex, I think I can taste Hampden (could also be Mhoba) and T.D.L. I think I recognize Guyana on the next sip. Aftertaste: funky and fruity, wood, sweet and drinkable, dry. Very appealing blend, the funky notes are in the foreground, looking forward to the reveal.

RumX Sample Set Premium. Now Olli is getting it, uh no, this one is from JulianP. Not much to say about this rather alcoholic rum, otherwise lots of herbs, but also tropical fruits and caramel.

Starts off on the nose with lots of power and funk. I'd say Hampden, Long Pond, a splash of NY, Foursquare RC57, and maybe a bit of Panama to round it off at the end. The aromas come together well and make this noble blend a great, easy-drinking overall package. Too bad I only ordered one bottle in the stash. I'm really curious about Dirk's reveal.

#6936 19.06.2026 Brought this one to my friend's place to give it a go and what a wonderful rum and then it has a nice price tag. This is a really nice rum with a good price tag in my mind. Nice esters with overripe fruits, glue, wood, spice, light mint and some faint rubber.

The big surprise bag from Berlin. One can probably be curious about the reveal. I would guess that Hampden is included, maybe a Foursquare and something from Trinidad as well. At least that's my first thought. My conclusion: very well done and easy to drink.

"The Beast" isn't all that beastly and is instead pretty smooth and dangerously easy to drink. Esters are present, but only one aspect of this successful and very tasty blend, where I especially like the long and extraordinarily fruity finish combined with chocolate, mint, and spices. If I had to guess which components this rum was made from, I'd say Fiji meets Trinidad, rounded off with a bit of Spanish style leaning towards the DomRep or Panama, and a rum based on sugarcane juice (possibly Ghana). Ultimately, though, it doesn't really matter, because the result counts and it's very delicious!

Time for the beast. Maybe Dirk will reveal the exact composition in two weeks at the GRF. Nose: very fresh, pleasant esters and lots of citrus fruit, lemon, lime, and orange. Goes somewhat towards candied lemon peel and thus reminds both of dish soap and fruit bread. Also present are passion fruit and banana. Definitely Jamaica in there, HD and maybe old LP or NY. It also seems slightly fermented and vegetal with honey, so I could also imagine Ghana or even Mhoba, but there's nothing older from those yet. Then there could also be a Clairin inside. That's the foreground for me on the nose. 8.6 Palate: oh wow, there's clearly more going on than on the nose. First, lots of sour-sweet citrus fruits again with lime, lemon, and orange, but also passion fruit and banana. A bit of dish soap. Above and alongside that, quite a lot of esters. It has a slightly oily and bacon-like texture. At the back, herbs and vegetal notes towards grain with a hint of mint. A lot could actually be in there. Jamaica for sure (HD and LP, maybe NY), something like Mhoba, Ghana or Clairin is possible, TDL or even PM could also be. We'll see. Definitely tasty. 8.8

The first encrypted rum from RumClub. The nose says Hampden to me clearly, not much else is perceivable underneath even after an hour of breathing, at least not in a normal nosing glass. On the palate then quite an explosion of aromas that definitely says: Hampden is in here but not only! I guess additional shares of Belize and/or Barbados, as well as Guyana and Fiji, plus some Trinidad. Funky, light esters, coconut, mint, herbs, rubber and plastic, butter caramel and lots of glue. Overall definitely a highly exciting and complex blend with well-integrated alcohol content. I'm very curious about the final reveal!

A blend of unspecified components. Even without knowing the ingredients, I’d dare to say that there are probably some older parts in here. A nice tropical fruity ester note is pretty clear. But it stays at a pleasant, easy-going level. I also pick up some caramel, subtle vanilla notes, a bit of menthol, and a hint of coconut. The nose stays interesting and doesn’t get boring even after an hour. With plenty of time in the glass, I think I smell a bit of Guyana. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, bold, and lives up to its name or theme. Very well done, truly complex, and nicely balanced.

So what exactly is in there? For me, the taste is the main thing and this rum definitely hits the mark. I suspect part Jamaica and Trinidad. Maybe Guyana. Then it gets tricky. Hope Dirk clears it up soon😅. But once again, a very successful bottling.

Time to review this top secret rum blend from Rumclub. On the nose: Esters, overripe tropical fruits and glue as main notes. Im guessing that high ester Jamaican rum matured in sherry casks is the blend. Little bit of vanilla. Hints of that earthy/woody/minty note that is typical TDL rums. Taste: Esters, glue, overripe pineapples and bananas at first. Light caramel notes. Fruity with that sherry cask influence. High abv is present, but i think its integrated nicely. Finish: Esters, glue and tropical fruits. Little bit of woody and spicy notes. Aged Jamaican high ester rum matured in sherry casks is dominating this blend and even after sitting in the glass for atleast 45 minutes, i dont get much else. Compared to other Jamaican rums with sherry cask maturation, this is very good in that category due the roundness and better body.

Rumclub Edition 63. When I think of The Beast, I always immediately think of the very experimental Caroni bottling from S.B.S. You don't expect something like that here. This is a great, finely tuned blend with nicely worked out fruit notes and very good alcohol integration. The fruity part (probably Jamaica) dominates, but other notes also come through again and again (some caramel, menthol).

Great surprise. On the nose, I get awesome ester power... lots of fruit, menthol, vanilla, caramel, alcohol well integrated. On the palate, ester power again in full force... nicely fruity, menthol, red fruits, even a bit floral... wonderfully balanced despite the intense funky ester power... I like it... should have grabbed a bottle after all...

Sample from Rum Depot Berlin. The nose is already fun. Fruity notes, slightly funky, nice esters. On the palate then bang! Fruits, glue, spiciness, slightly herbal in the aftertaste. The fruits linger. Alcohol very well integrated. Nice product. I’d love to have a bottle ;-)

Wonderful blend of fine rums. Ingredients are not broken down, but they are very harmonious. The first sip truly lives up to its name. The second is slightly milder and very well-balanced. Stuff for adult rum connoisseurs.

Mega blend! Hampden or New Yarmouth?! Definitely dominate. At the same time, as a counterpoint, an earthy rum, maybe Guyana, comes in. Trinidad, Fiji and/or Lucia can also be on board. Definitely the high art of blending!

Exciting blend declared as High Ester by the rum club that I'm trying relatively late but before I know the exact composition. On the nose, it's quite funky, we have caramel, a hint of coconut, and a distinct yeasty note. On the palate, very buttery at first, then very intense with a great balanced but challenging profile. For me, an excellent blend. You can't do much better. Chapeau! But what's really inside? Panama, Barbados, Jamaica, and Guadeloupe (Marie Galante) would be my guess.

This guessing game is really fun. I'll join in and guess it's a blend of Jamaica, Barbados, and a matured Agricole. Maybe some Fiji in there too. But step by step. Beautiful golden color with a slight orange tint. The nose first hits with funk. Nice fruit notes combined with glue. Along with oak and a caramel sweetness. On the palate, again first the ester variations, then comes the woody spice mixed with brown sugar. In the end, something that tastes to me like matured Agricole. Anyway, all well composed and very drinkable. The long finish carries all the palate flavors, plus a nice slight bitterness – this thing is a real blast. Looking forward to the reveal.

I find the new Rumclub bottling No. 63 super interesting and very tasty, especially because you don't know exactly what it is, which makes it a lot of fun to figure out what kinds are blended in. I definitely taste Jamaica and would say Trinidad :D I'm curious about the reveal in 6 months 🙈

Just amazing. Great ester and fruit on the nose, immediately reminds you of Jamaica. On the palate, super good maturity and really nice dirty notes. The finish lingers for a long time. A welcome guest on the rum shelf!

A great cuvée, I'm curious about the reveal. I assume a long tropical aging for the base. Very well-balanced, the ester notes aren't just for nerds. Interesting: with water, the nose becomes rounder and the ester notes come out more on the palate, but I prefer it neat.

On the nose for me Jamaican funk, baking aromas from Barbados, coffee notes that I would probably place in Guyana, and well-integrated cask notes. On the palate then grassy, spicy notes that remind me more of Agricole. If I had to guess, I’d say a relatively classic Navy blend with additional Agricole from Martinique or Guadeloupe. Very nice blend, looking forward to the evaluation.

Poured from a sample. A curious blend of unknown origins (to me at least). Nose is distinctly estery and fruity, but the palate moves into a more balanced array of notes- adding barrel notes, mint, peach, etc. The finish turns towards roasted wood, similar to low ester Long Ponds I've had. Weird how each phase shifts so differently from each other. Overall, a very good rum!
