Sipped neat, this is Savanna funk in full swing — overripe strawberry and juicy pineapple up front, then a hard turn into green olives and briny sea-salt on a long, oily finish. Light vanilla oak sits underneath and stays out of the way. At 55.5% the ester punch is loud but well integrated. A blend of three Savanna whites (Herr, Grand Arôme, Traditionnel), and it drinks like it.

Tasted several times at Rhum Fest 2026, first during the Ricci line-up and then in the afternoon after a meal + coffee bean. I bought a bottle, a Savanna of this kind at 100€ just doesn’t exist anymore. 👃 Lots of fermented fruits typical of the distillery, you won’t be disappointed. Overripe strawberries, juicy and very ripe pineapple, a hint of candied citrus. Superb Savanna esters that lean towards seaside fishiness. Also fresh, island spices, the characteristic olive note (darker than green?), a slight vanilla oak just enough not to overpower the fermented and briny aspect. 😋 Wow, really very good. Here we have a blend very similar to the well-known Th1. No need to elaborate, the aromas from the nose are found as delicious flavors on the palate. Solvent-like and varnished esters. ⛳ Long as you’d expect, esterified, salty, briny, fermented, with a little touch of vanilla sweetness. 📝 In 2019, Morgan blended 3 signature white rums from the renowned Savanna distillery: a Herr (High Ester Rum Reunion), a Grand Arôme, and a Traditionnel. Then this blend aged for 7 years in ex-Bourbon casks under Mediterranean climate on the Côte d'Azur. 💡 A true high ester, sitting between a TH1 LMDW, a Herrline 2, and the cask strength blend from Chais Saint Éloi. I even find some similarities with Forêt and 10 years wet warehouse.

#6926 17.06.2026 Training is over and my wife has been picked up from work. Time for some spitting and nice Trance tracks on Spotify. This is a nice rum with an attractive price tag at release. Fruity with esters, light wood, polish, spices and light salty olives.

Tasted at Rhumfest Paris 2026. Like every year, we had a really nice lineup at this booth. This is one of the bottles I liked the most. A blend of 3 Savanna rums, very fruity with strawberry and pineapple notes, plus a touch of esters and olive. A more than interesting value for money!

A great Savanna blend, where Herr and Grand Arome definitely dominate - strawberry, olive, something fermented and brine dominate here from nose to finish. Besides that light wood and vanilla. Certainly not top class, but for the money you won't get a Savanna of this quality anymore, so you should buy now.

Very, very ambivalent and therefore incredibly interesting bottling. Savanna bottled by Ricci - that promises excitement! They managed to combine some of the currently most sought-after aromas, I would guess. There's HERR in it - but also Grand Arome. In the glass, the dark rum already shows very long streaks running oily down the inside wall. The nose is full of salty olives, green influences that almost go towards herring. But on the palate, the aha effect comes, strawberry with cream, fruit compote of peach and a little mango with pleasant woody notes that give more character and round it off. Thanks to @skyfly for the sample - I would be ready for the big version in 50cl.

I enjoy the cool moments in daylight, after the sun has disappeared behind the mountain, with a few samples. This blend from Savannah is really good, especially the nose with fermented strawberries, plus light spicy notes with brine. The first palate contact is very sweet and fruity and then turns salty, with spices and a good portion of wood, a bit too much for me. Still a very nice drop, thanks for the sample Sky. 😊

Tasted at the occasion of Rhum Fest Paris 2026. Fruits, fruits and more fruits. Strawberry, pineapple. Too ripe. This rum deserves more time than just a quick pass at a festival. It rained a lot.

After a big day of work, I'm going to taste this Savanna, it's my first. On the nose it's fruity, you can clearly smell strawberry. On the palate still strawberry but then comes olive. The finish is very long, more on an olive taste. For a first try I approve, it's super good, I still feel strawberry in my glass. A small positive plus: the bottle is really beautiful.

And what better than another Savanna, this time selected by an independent bottler? 🥃 Ricci Savanna SVN HGT 2019 – 55.5% A Grand Arôme from Réunion distilled in 2019 and bottled at 55.5%. Let's say it right away: following the Lontan 2004 was almost an impossible mission. And yet... this Ricci manages with honors! 👃👄 You immediately find that Savanna signature that fans love: an intensely esterified, explosive but perfectly controlled profile. The aromas range from ripe strawberry, juicy pineapple, then evolve towards notes of green olives and brine, all with great elegance and beautiful expressiveness. A true "funky Savanna", modern, indulgent and terribly effective. 🙏 A big thanks to Malau for sharing this novelty that literally knocked us out... in a good way, of course! 😅 A magnificent way to close this last evening of the season. Now, all that's left is to wait until next season... even if the wait might be long! 🥃🔥

Nose: Here you get hit right away with the full blast of esters. Then comes the fruit. Mainly salty strawberry. Very interesting. Palate: Wonderfully fruity. Slightly salty still. Some wood. Just right. Nothing overlaps. The alcohol is very well integrated. Drinkable in my opinion. Finish: Wonderfully fruity. The esters are still slightly present. Wood comes in. In a very good ratio. All in all a very good drop. Second tasting. Rating slightly up.

Weekend trip with my brother to our old home Oelde in memory of our father. Really good Savanna, wow very tasty. The strawberry is also clearly recognizable here, very fruity, but ester is also noticeable.
