Nineteen years of tropical aging shows: overripe pineapple and esters up front, then a "boisé remarquable" — a serious oak backbone — with vanilla and a whiff of burnt sugar underneath. Tasted twice at the Rhumfest Paris 2026. This is an intense and expressive rum with very Jamaican notes of overripe pineapple, esters, and remarkable woodiness. It's very well balanced. Also a bit dark with burnt sugar. A favorite from this event.

Great Long Pond... it brings a lot of spice, esters, and fruit on the nose... On the palate, full power esters, tropical fruits, dried fruits, vanilla, and light herbal notes... really awesome stuff, I like it a lot. I'm curious how it performs in a Mai Tai.

A pleasant LongPond with nice cask and spice aromas. Added to that are dried fruits and a bit of burnt caramel with sugar. The alcohol is quite well integrated. Overall, for me, it ranks in the middle range because it lacks outstanding characteristics.

Wow, the alcohol at just under 70% is very well integrated here, I didn't expect that. The esters dancing on my palate are really nice. Great bottling from Mika. Because of the clear pineapple notes, I would have definitely guessed Hampden blind.

Wow, a great Long Pond. You can definitely notice the almost 70% ABV, but it also makes it insanely complex and never unpleasant. Great interplay of fruit and wood. Great bottling from Mika.

Tasted at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. Another rum that definitely deserves more than just a quick pass at a festival. Despite the high ABV, it seemed very indulgent to me. Fruity and oaky, with lovely esters. Need to re-test as soon as possible.

Great Long Pond from Swell with plenty of (ester) power. Nose is very typically Jamaican with pineapple, cask influence, and of course esters. On the palate, there's especially a very distinct eucalyptus note that makes the rum quite unique. Definitely a single cask in the truest sense. 👍🏻

Nice low ester Long Pong. Straight away it’s a bit too sharp for me, but with a little water I mainly find a candied, slightly tart pineapple on the palate. Not overly complex, but very tasty. For my taste, a successful bottling, but not one you necessarily have to chase after.
