The farmer's palate says: Difficult rum... I already had it in the glass at the Nobilis tasting at Rum Depot and somehow felt overwhelmed by it. So now a second attempt: This time I reluctantly poured the rum into a cognac glass, and strangely (?) that seems to hinder the evaporation of the strong alcohol fumes. After 20 minutes, the rum is ready for tasting. I mainly smell herbs (woodruff?) and yellow (or maybe green?) unripe fruits. On the palate, then, a powerful, oily presence of the spirit, you can only take it in small sips. The heavy alcohol again carries yellow-fleshed fruits, without being directly fruity in the usual sense, then more and more dry coffee powder takes over, which I like. Conclusion: This rum is a new experience for me despite having tasted more than 700 rums, and I find it hard to classify it objectively. Subjectively, it’s definitely not a rum I’d want to drink just one glass of, but it’s truly no lightweight; easy sipping is not possible with it, it feels more like an extremely heavy, fully tropical-aged rum. I’m already curious about more reviews, especially admissions that others were initially overwhelmed by this rum too. Many thanks to the Nobilis team for this unusual bottling!

Roasted hazelnuts, nougat, dark chocolate, and herbs on the nose. Alcohol very present. On the palate very similar, at first a full blast of alcohol... then it quickly gets better with lots of nut, nougat, herbs, and some dried fruits. For me, the alcohol (even though it's quite high) isn't well integrated enough, which diminishes the enjoyment.

#6707 26.04.2026 Tasted for the first time over a year ago and then again at the warehouse tasting where I got a 70 cl sample to bring home. A pretty good release and a nice price tag as well in my mind. There is some nice nougat in the profile as well as licorice, chocolate and some herbs.

On the nose hazelnut liqueur with nougat and light herbal notes. On the palate even after an hour of breathing still very alcoholic, flavor-wise dried fruits and dark, spicy aromas that last long into the finish.

Lots of milk chocolate and hazelnut. Almost a bit too sweet for me. In my opinion, there is an unnatural sweetness present. Alcohol borderline.

I actually find it pretty good. So once poured into the glass, it's good to wait, at least twenty minutes... The aromas completely transform!! It becomes less vegetal, and the caramel starts to take over with coffee and chocolate. A little note of nougat. I really like it. The length is interesting, the alcohol quite well integrated.

Beautiful strong gold color in the glass. Also with copper tones in the bottle. Visually a great presentation. About the inner values. The nose right after opening the bottle and pouring is alcoholic. After 30 minutes of air, the actual aromas come through. First some caramel then quickly herbal notes. Different than I expected, but quite exciting. Could be polarizing. On the palate also this herbal spice that seamlessly goes into the long finish. Again something caramel-like and wood. What stays on the palate for minutes I find very tasty. After another 15 minutes in the glass the nose impression gets better and better. I like this power with the herbal spicy overall impression. But probably not everyone will feel the same.

I thought about buying a bottle and the app tells me I have a sample. 😅 On the nose first strongly alcoholic with fruit. Okay it needs time. Then slightly sweet with nuts. First sip after 10 minutes. Good but the 68.1% are still too dominant. After 30 minutes fruits, nuts, light roasted aromas, chocolate. It gives more and more. A pleasant feeling on the finish.

On the nose not bad at all, with caramel, light and a bit floral. Slightly alcoholic. Also on the palate somewhat alcoholic, but still quite tasty. You notice a bit of youth. It benefits from some time in the glass or a bit of water, but not too much, otherwise it becomes too thin. I don't find it bad, what's there is already tasty. But for my taste too alcoholic and a bit too thin in substance in the end.

My calming drops for today, see glass.🥴 Right after pouring it hits Skyfly's "hazelnut liqueur with nougat" best, plus yellow fruits, I like it a lot. Over time it turns herbal, with anise and a slightly musty attic. Quite alcoholic and sweet in the mouth. Dark chocolate, nutty roasted, with licorice and leather plus herbs and tea, all nicely oily. Unfortunately the finish is a bit short, but it reflects the palate quite well. For me a really awesome drop, as I said, I like these uncolored Guyanas, and this one is really top.

A totally crazy intense hazelnut note, as well as lots of fresh yeast on the nose. On the palate very dry and woody with light herbal notes, as well as spices like cinnamon but also caraway with a slight smokiness on the finish. Roasted hazelnuts strongly present here again! The alcohol could be a bit better integrated. The same rum in 100% tropical aging would probably taste very different... Good but honestly doesn't blow me away completely. Especially at 150€.

Special nose with hazelnut and nougat, herbs and floral, glue, chocolaty. In the mouth also chocolaty, roasted, woody, spicy, licorice. Unfortunately also a bit alcoholic, and so the rum doesn't quite grab me.

Very complex on the nose, slightly floral with very little ester. On the palate, the alcohol is not quite as nicely integrated. Lots of wood and leather, no ester on the palate. Great long finish. With a few drops of water, the sweetness comes out a bit better.

The rum needs a lot of time to breathe due to the alcohol content. Even then, the alcohol is still too dominant. Flavor-wise, cocoa, caramel and dark notes dominate. For me, a slightly more complex rum that you can drink but don't have to.

I have to say, this is a really awesome rum. The smell alone makes you want to dive right into the rum. I haven't tasted anything comparable so far. The taste—I find the alcohol pretty well integrated, yeah, you can taste the 68 percent but that's allowed. Like I said, a really awesome rum and the bottle is going to be ordered.

Nobilis – Guyana LBI 2013 – 68.1% And this one really blew our minds! Several of us thought it was... a low ester Jamaican! Wrong! 😂 Heading to Diamond, Guyana, with the LBI mark – La Bonne Intention. I have to say we're much less familiar with this profile. And that's exactly the point of this bottle: it's not just "another Guyana." The LBI mark and the Savalle column offer something very different from the Enmore or Port Mourant profiles we're more used to. I'd sum it up as a herby, warm, powerful, and hazelnutty Diamond. A real discovery!

03/10/2026: tasted @ Salon du Rhum 2026. The first rum we tasted at the Nobilis booth, and the quality is immediately noticeable. At the start maybe a bit alcoholic but this improves over time. Interesting flavour profile.
