Expect the full Guyana signature: dried fruit, caramel, wood, herbs and licorice, with a vanilla sweetness and buttery pastry note that softens the cask-strength heat. Nobody calls it groundbreaking, but the barrel influence sits nicely for the age.

Ein Glas mit dem Rum wurde mir von Sven, dem Gründer des Schweizer Spirits Museums, auf dem 4. GAF 2026 in Stuttgart zur Blindverkostung in die Hand gedrückt - insofern nicht nur Messe-, sondern auch Blind-Bewertung (Foto wurde mir nachträglich von Sven zur Verfügung gestellt). An der Nase kaum Alkohol spürbar, dafür war ich sofort auf dem Guyana-Trip, der sich nach dem Verkosten vertiefte. Damit lag ich also schon mal richtig. Ich habe dann auf einen ca. 20 Jahre alten Diamond getippt, weil der Rum dunkel, schwer und lange gereift wirkte. Ha, da lag ich schön falsch - nur 5 Jahre Reifezeit, Wahnsinn! Jedenfalls sehr süffig und fast ein bisschen zu süß, obwohl mit Sicherheit nicht nachgesüßt. Mehr als eine solide Sache!

Danke in die Schweiz, sehr nett, dass Sven mich am 4.GAF in Stuttgart probieren lassen hat. Für sein junges Alter, kann er schon einiges. Der Fasseinfluß harmoniert hier sehr gut. Danke, dass du mir ein Flasche für einen Split weg legst.
