A glass of this rum was handed to me by Sven, the founder of the Swiss Spirits Museum, at the 4th GAF 2026 in Stuttgart for a blind tasting – so not only a fair but also a blind rating (photo was provided to me later by Sven). Hardly any alcohol detectable on the nose, but I was immediately on the Guyana trip, which deepened after tasting. So I was already right there. I then guessed about a 20-year-old Diamond because the rum seemed dark, heavy and long-aged. Ha, I was way off – only 5 years of aging, amazing! Anyway, very drinkable and almost a bit too sweet, although certainly not sweetened afterwards. More than a solid thing!

Thanks to Switzerland, very nice that Sven let me taste at the 4th GAF in Stuttgart. For his young age, he can already do quite a bit. The barrel influence harmonizes very well here. Thanks for setting aside a bottle for a split.

Das man einen Guyana im Glas hat wird einem beim Einschenken schon klar. Getrocknete Früchte, Karamell, Holz, Kräuter und Gewürze prägen das Aromenprofil von Anfang bis Ende. Nicht besonderes, aber für nur 5 Jahre Reifung kein schlechter Rum

An der Nase eine gewisse vanillige note mit durchaus roten Früchten. Am Gaumen dann durchaus eine positive vanillig benälckartige note ... Im Nachgang definitiv angenehm. Guter Rum ... Über 100 würde ich nicht bezahlen

Direktvergleich mit dem Soulfire (RX23636). Absolut vergleichbare DNA, der RCS überzeugt durch etwas zurückhaltendere Karamellsüsse, die dafür dem Alkoholgehalt etwas mehr Raum lässt. Gefällt mir durch das aromatisch vielschichtigere Gaumenspiel geschmacklich einen Ticken besser, bekommt aber einen leichten Bezug aufgrund der nicht ganz vollendeten Alkoholintegration. Unter den jungen Guyanas neueren Datums zählt das Release für mich aber ganz klar zu den besseren, auch wenn die Süsse natürlich gefallen muss.

Danke Jörg für die Verkostung ist schon etwas leckeres. Rauchige Nase mit getrockneten Früchten und allerlei Kräutern. Am Gaumen dann eine schöne Vanillesüße mit Buttergebäck aber doch die volle Fassstärke.

Sehr viel Vanillin aus einem wahrscheinlich frischen Eichenfass. Für das junge Alter ein erstaunlicher Fasseinfluss. Zudem Melasse, Karamell und Lakritz. Sehr gut für das junge Alter!
