"What a beast of an Enmore" is the mood here — this 1994 REV is deep, dark and roasty, all charred wood, dark chocolate and burnt sugar with an espresso edge. Bitterness leads early, so give it real time in the glass; it opens into prunes, raisins, black tea and a faint petrol-medicinal streak. At 60.2% the heat's there but well folded in, and the finish runs long and dry.

Blind tasting RX25870 versus RX26191 (marking under the glass bottom): The more time passes, the more the Distilia (RX26191) sets itself apart from the TRC (RX25870). The latter has the stronger nose at first, but to me it’s over the top, too woody. But if it averages 91 points on RumX, then I’d give the Distilia at least 93, it’s a really convincing REV, with a wonderful espresso note. It was taken out of the cask at exactly the right time.

Weekend trip with my brother to our old hometown Oelde in memory of our father. Wow, an insanely outstanding Enmore. Very roasty, as expected, you can taste dark chocolate, but also malt, wood, and cask. Really delicious.

Addendum from GRF 2026. First of all, thanks to Skyfly for pulling this out of the backpack again before the release. I haven't had a 94 ABV in the REV glass yet. Can't quite keep up with my benchmarks. Very good, but I find the new one from Bottleshop a bit better.

9,5:On the nose, slightly metallic, dirty, roasted wood notes, burnt with caramel, chocolate, spicy with umami, anise, malty, barrel impact is strong, prunes, dried apricots, raisins, minty molasses, dark with black tea, licorice, bump into our nosetrils, round, balanced. On aeration, molasses is vegetal with fennel, celery, soy sauce, tropical and citrus fruits arise, slightly fermented, nuts, burnt sugar, medicinal notes with petrol hints. 9,3:On the palate, the attack is balanced with roasted wood notes like caramel, dark chocolate, leather, burnt sugar, later pastry, spicy with allspice, umami, peppery, dark molasses and licorice, black tea, slightly minty, bitter, medicinal with polish, menthol hints, slightly funky, fruity with dried fruits like raisins, prunes, currants and apricots, citrus fruits. 9:The finish is long, dry&tannic, quite bitter, very dark with burnt, charred wood, smoky, spicy, dark molasses, minty, fruity with dried, citrus and tropical fruits..

Wow, what a blast! 94 proof REVs are already a quality guarantee, but this one impresses with massive intensity of all the aromas while having perfectly integrated alcohol. The finish just goes on forever!

#7238 29.08.2026 Tasted at the German Rum Festival 2026. This is a very good REV and I would like to have one if possible. The price tag is probably pretty high, but quality always costs. My quick notes while tasting. Roasted wood, fruits, chocolate, mint, leather, light smoke, polish, nuts, light tannins.

Rum tasted at the GRF in Berlin in 2026. A very beautiful nose, powerful and rich, very oaky like any respectable Enmore. Lots of prunes with roasted and earthy notes. The palate is superb, powerful and balanced with added spices and dried fruits. The finish is very long, still balanced. You can really feel the wood/mocha side right at the end.

The expected REV profile only emerges on the second impression – initially, there is an intense influence from the cask and the alcohol content of the distillate is noticeable. However, this does not have a negative effect but rather creates a distinctive base for a distillate that, alongside the intense cask notes, offers an essence of the REV marque with dried plum, leather, and licorice. A fitting addition to the range of 1994 REV releases.

Borderline bitter, lots of tea aromas, a bit vegetal, fruity notes. Still a very good rum, but compared to other REVs it falls short. Edit: after trying it several times, definitely better than in the first review.
