Tasting at Rhum Fest 2026. Detailed notes coming soon. 👃 Sap, candied fruits, yellow fruits, smoke, slight Caroni influence (essence, old garage) 😋 Fatty and oily texture. ⛳ 💡One of the nice surprises of RF. An excellent great value.

A rum that reminds me of DBM's cask strength editions. A nose that carries a lot of ripe exotic fruits and you can tell the fermentation was long with some esters. A more pastry-like side with marzipan adds indulgence to a charming nose, with some heady flowers and a slight woodiness. The palate is lively and acidic with exotic fruits (passion fruit, pineapple), but also quince. It's quite round and a perfect rum for a festive sharing. The finish is fairly long on the fruity side with a bitterness of bitter almond. Really nice

I love this rum and I wish it got more recognition than just being a curiosity at Rhum Fest Paris 2026. I didn't try it there although it was right in front of me, I got curious and took the risk to buy a bottle, absolutely don't regret (btw, bottle n°7 here). This rum is so unique, not just by being the first (and to this day, the last) molasses rum from Metropolitan France, it's also aromatically and odd ball. Think campfire smoke, pineapple, tropical esters not unlike a low-ester Long Pond, but kinda like a distant cousin. It also got cherry, and on the palate young wood, probably because its 7 years into a very small cask. It's not for everyone, but every curious rum lover should try it. It's only con is that it feels a little thin on the palate, but it still is long. Alcohol is well integrated. For 99€ it's worth the money.
