Don't expect fireworks — the thing most tasters flag is how light this one drinks. Several suspect Foursquare underneath, and the palate agrees: vanilla, caramel, a touch of pepper and coffee, dried fruit in the background. At 45% it's balanced and easy, but the body runs thin and the finish is short. One member bluntly calls it flavorless; most land at "pleasant but no wow".

This one was a disappointment because I had hoped this would be the best one in the batch of four. The nose is kind of Barbadian, but there is something breaking the experience, maybe sherry. A mix of fruits, spices, tobacco and a bit of oak/barrel. The palate lacks complexity and that is sad. Tannins and barrel are present and the entry is bitter sweet with vanilla and raisins. The finish is medium long with roasted chocolate, fruits and vanilla.

A discreet rum with a character that's not too exuberant. Maybe a bit too light both on the nose and the palate. The finish is short. Definitely an easy drink that you can enjoy while chilling on the couch watching a Netflix series. A good product even for rum newbies.

Tasting the 2020 version. Light in the nose. Citrus. Not very gluey, is it Foursquare? In taste: yes. Very typical FS. Only 45% but pleasantly balanced. Caramel. Bit of pepper. Coffee. Not bad. Lacks the wow factor. But it's still pretty good.

In the nose there is a hint of technical Trinidad, so I was quite looking forward to the sample, but unfortunately it didn't hit the mark. In taste, however, there is rather vanilla and chocolate, too sweet for me, but mainly it is kind of thin. A pity.
