Overripe banana and caramelized pineapple meet a markedly spicy, dried-fruit cask note — this is a Haitian cane-juice spirit re-distilled in Monaco and aged in ex-vermouth barrels, and the wine influence shows. The barrel is pronounced, but citrus and tropical fruit still come through, with herbs and a light ester edge underneath. One taster guessed "funky Jamaica with a dirty Caroni finish" blind. Unusual, and it works.

#7421 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. Quick notes while tasting. Fruits, spice, light roasted wood, floral, light ester, herbs, caramel.

An interesting rum when you look at its creation. A Haitian rum is distilled again in Monaco and then aged in vermouth casks. The cask influence is pronounced; yet a variety of different fruits are pleasantly noticeable. Usually, I don't like rums with red wine influence. But with this one, everything fits well together.

Super crazy experiment and surprisingly successful distillate. The vermouth cask is clearly recognizable if you know it, with intense notes of spices and dried fruits like in sweet wine. Blind, I would have thought more of a mix of funky Jamaica with dirty Caroni finish. Haiti as a base brings nice fruity notes of overripe banana and pineapple, some citrus fruits and slightly meaty BBQ notes. Through aging in the vermouth cask, this profile is complemented with caramelized pineapple and various herbs and spices and a light wine note. Very fine and unusual!

Very exciting experiment. The vermouth cask brings in a nice sweetness. You can also clearly taste Haiti. Flavor-wise, I would have actually guessed a tropical aging.

Tasted at LMDW A nice surprise. The base spirit, similar to clairins can still be distinguished. The second distilling in monaco and barrel aging sdd .ore complexity to the rum. A mix between fruitiness, but also dried fruits, caramels and barrel aging. A nice experience, definitely recommend to try it.

Very successful experiment. Despite the low ABV, it doesn't feel thin and has a nice, distinctive profile. With a bit of imagination, you can actually find hints of a Kingston Negroni here.

03/10/2026: tasted @ Salon du Rhum 2026. On paper this is a fun and interesting experiment, but it didn't blow me away. Not that it's bad, just not something I'm raving about. Glad I could taste it, but don't need a bottle in my collection.
