A first-class Agricole where the vegetal/earthy aromas dominate alongside the sugarcane. Fruity notes like citrus and sour cherry stay discreetly in the background, as do various spices. The alcohol is perfectly integrated!

Sehr sehr schöner und runder 2008er Montebello! Tolle Nase nach in Honig glasierten Zitrusfrüchten, Kirschen und mehr und Gewürzen wie Zimt und Muskat. Als Agricole definitiv zu erkennen aber sehr sanft. Am Gaumen dann etwas Erdinger als erwartet aber alles in allem sehr elegant und rund ohne zu dünn zu wirken. Definitiv einer der besten single cask Montebello die ich bis dato im Glas hatte. Abgefahren das hier aus einem einzelnen Single cask nur 81 Flaschen rauskamen - da muss wirklich extrem viel Interaktion im Fass passiert sein. Auf das erdige Profil muss man schon abfahren aber alles in allem wirklich ein sehr runder Agricole!

Mal wieder ein dickes Lob an Stefan, da hast du mal echt wieder ein gutes Händchen bewiesen. Sowohl die feine Nase, als auch am Gaumen hat mich dieser Montebello überzeugt, obwohl ich nicht der Größte Fan von dieser Richtung bin.

I am positively surprised. Wonderful Agricole, but for a top rating it simply lacks that special spark or complexity. Overall very smooth, alcohol well integrated, nice balance of the typical Agricole notes without too much grassy notes, slight bitterness, wood, peach, cherry.

Ein sehr beeindruckender Agricole aus Gouadeloupe ! Wenn man das pflanzlich holzige Agricole-Profil mag, setzt dieser Montebello an Eleganz nochmal eine Schippe drauf. In der Nase habe ich Zitrusfrüchte, pflanzliche Noten, Tee, Zuckerrohr, Honig, Zimt, Gewürze und Karamell, bevor es dann in eine modrige Richtung mit etwas Kirsche geht. Am Gaumen wartet dann das unverkennbare Agricole-Profil auf. Pflanzliches Zuckerrohr, Honig, Tee, erdige Töne, Gewürze, Holz und Röstaromen leiten über zu dunklen Beeren, Kirschbaumholz und etwas Gras. Der mittellange Abgang bietet ein sehr ähnliches Spektrum wie der Gaumen und zeichnet sich dazu durch schöne Fassnoten und etwas Nadelgehölz aus. Für Agricole Fans ein echter Gaumenschmeichler. Hat bei mir nicht zur 9+ gereicht. Ist dennoch sehr interessant. Die Agricole Noten stehen klar im Vordergrund sowohl in der Nase als auch am Gaumen. Alkohol ist gut eingebunden. Etwas Zitrusfrüchte und leicht bitter und holzig im Abgang.

Heute ein kleines Agricole Cross-Tasting: Ein Rumnden ich unter „interessant“ einordne, das heißt ich würdige den eigenen Charakter, mag ihn aber nicht wirklich. Die erdigen, pflanzlichen Noten, mit Tee und Kräutern, sind überraschend, aber in der Nase gibt es eine Notendie ich nicht fassen kann, aber sehr unangenehm finde.

Schöner Rum mit pflanzlich-grünem Charakter. Tolle Restsüsse, das Fass balanciert das Destillat zwischen Zuckerrohr- und Honignoten, Holz, frischem Gras, Tee, Muskatnuss, einem Hauch Vanille und einer dezenten Kirschnote. Ein sehr runder Rum mit leichtem, aber aromatisch vielschichtigem Profil. Gefällt mir sehr gut.

Schon die Nase verrät, dass es sich um einen gereiften Agricole handelt. Schöne Gebäcknoten. Am Gaumen entfaltet sich dann ein wunderschöner, sehr eleganter gereifter Agricole in perfekter Trinkstärke. Alles sehr harmonisch, die Gebäckaromen, aber auch die leicht grasigen Aromen im Hintergrund. Genau die richtige Menge Holz. Das ist für meinen Geschmack wirklich eine ganz tolle Abfüllung, die Stefan da wieder unters Volk gebracht hat. Leider über meinem Budget bzw. zu dem Preis nicht ausreichend mein Beuteschema.

Vorweg, ich bin nicht der größte Fan von gereiften Rums aus Zuckerrohrsaft. Dennoch hier ein guter Vertreter, der noch seine grasigen Noten erkennen lässt. Sehr metallisch, ich finde ich auch Hauch von Gummibärchen. Alkohol gut integriert.
