Farmer's saying from the "Farmer's palate" (now the amateur even starts to rhyme ...🫣 🤣): If you’re into mint, power, and barrel, then you’ll find this rum seriously awesome! 😎 But now, seriously: Pleasantly subtle, less upfront mint than the average 2001 to 2003 TDL, but more barrel notes and darker fruits (even though the barrel influence is actually unusual given the younger age). Not watery at all, quite the opposite—really powerful and dense! Alcohol on the nose is almost non-existent—how is that possible at 68%?! On the palate, given the power and mouthfeel, I guessed around 60%—but actually a full 68%? Crazy! This Rumclub bottling totally convinced the "Farmer's palate," it stands out from the TDL "same old stuff." But what do I know ... 😎

Unfortunately, I have to say that I didn't really like it. For me, it could have aged a bit longer in the barrel. The notes are really nice, but what ruins a simply very good rating for me is that it is too alcoholic both on the nose and on the palate. Even after a longer time in the glass, it doesn't really get better. Sorry, just too sharp-edged.

Tasting date 07.08.2026 with Mr. Daniel Jungberg. RX26423 T.D.L RumClub Nose: Varnish, some light green banana, vanilla and light cask notes, licorice roots. Mouth: well balanced mint and eucalyptus notes. Dark berries like blueberries and black currant. Vegetable notes, fantastic ABV integration. Toffees and licorice notes. Residual taste with complexity and will balanced with fruity freshness from dark berries and minty finish. Earl gray tee, nutty notes. Wonderful T.D.L. The glass: Sweet oak, light minty. Tasting “In the cave”

Ein toller PVL Rum für erfahrene Genießer. Wer TDL-Rums kennt, wird überrascht sein, wie elegant sich die oft dominante Minze hier zugunsten von tiefen Holz- und dunklen Fruchtnoten zurückhält. Ein Rum, der Zeit zum Atmen im Glas benötigt, um seine vollen 16 Jahre Reifung zu offenbaren. Vielen Dank ans Depot für das Sample.

Powerful TDL from Berlin. Incredibly delicious nose that tempts with a full dark aroma palette and makes you want more! For me, it has a bit of Guyana vibes, especially since the mint subtly blends into the overall profile. On the palate, it's much more powerful than expected, really making the tongue tingle. Here, it's Trinidad through and through, mint meets dirt & rubber, which any rum nerd will love. The only thing is the alcohol is quite present, but at 68% ABV, that's not really a surprise!

A somewhat different TDL with subtle mint, burnt sugar, a few darker aromas, and various fruits. Definitely not a bad TDL, but the alcohol is a bit too intense for me, especially for beginners; maybe it could have used a bit more time in the barrel.

A nice TDL, hot and rather on the fruits and earthy notes than a menthol bomb. It opens quite close, it needs a lot of time resting in the glass in order to breathe. I think it's correct for the price.

My first 2010. Immediately recognizable as TDL. Mint is there, but more subtle. Instead, more wood and nice dark fruits. Bold without the alcohol burning too much. Quite surprising at that ABV. Despite obvious similarities to 2001-2003 and 2008/2009, it's somewhat different. Nice to see that younger TDL vintages can also impress.

#1824 14-08-2026 - Rate 9.0 Once again Rum Depot sends out a bottle of the highest quality and a very fair price. 16 years, 14 aged in tropical climate. ABV of 68%. Just take my money already 😂😉 Have one bottle sampled and one on the shelf

Tasting together with F. Kraemmer. On 07.08.2026 Nose on an adventure👃: I sense lacquer and medicinal notes, a bit of acidity and sweetness in the form of green bananas, caramel, light mint, light oak influence, and licorice root. Tongue on an adventure 🥃: I taste lots of mint leaves, light toffee, earl grey tea, and licorice root! The finish of the story💫: The high ABV is not noticeable at all! It is rich and oily in the glass with a medium-long finish that includes lots of black tea and licorice!

Here I have the eucalyptus, the medicinal notes, the cask — the longer it sits, the smoother the alcohol, very well integrated. After 2 hours, it's very astringent and reminds me of an old cough syrup, and the eucalyptus comes out more.

Ein ziemliches Brett mit ordentlich Alkohol. Braucht für mich definitiv erstmal einige Zeit im Glas. Dann aber richtig klasse.Ein schöner TDL, heiß und eher fruchtig und erdig als eine Mentholbombe. Starker TDL. Unfassbar leckere Nase, die mit der vollen dunklen Aromenpalette lockt und Lust auf mehr macht.

Nach dieser Abfüllung freue ich mich schon sehr auf weitere, noch kommende 2010er Vintagebottlings von T.D.L. Zwar ist die Minznote nicht ganz so dominant wie vom 2009er Jahrgang gewohnt, aber die Fruchtigkeit ist hier ebenfalls voll aufgedreht und sogar um ein paar Trockenfruchtnuancen von Rosinen und Datteln erweitert. Zugleich finde ich im Nachgeschmack noch leicht dreckige Werkstattnoten, die dem Rum eine weitere spannende Facette geben. Die 68% Alkohol sind für mich zu keinem Moment überfordernd und sorgen nach einem kurzen Punch auf die Geschmacksknospen für eine rasche Aktivierung der Speicheldrüsen, wodurch sich ein cremiges und volles Mundgefühl ausbildet. Super Stoff!

Klassisches TDL Profil, sehr konzentriert, der Alkohol ist angesichts der ABV vergleichsweise gut eingebunden. Gefällt am Gaumen erst einmal gut, im Abgang bzw. hinten raus aber leider dann recht schnell recht flach.

Top Trinidad with an absolutely brilliant price-performance ratio. Dirk Becker really nailed it. Not for beginners or novices, it needs a lot of time in the glass to unfold. On the nose, the alcohol comes through very strongly at first, then the typical Trinidad notes come into play. On the palate, very intense and you are rewarded with a long and intense finish.

Very surprisingly delicious rum to my taste. On the nose very intense, very funky high-ester, fruity and lots of fresh wood. On the nose it is so fresh like mint or eucalyptus. On the palate follows nose, very intense, strong, sharp, peppery, marked ABV but still deliciously fresh fruity and woody. Clear ester notes that linger long in the finish. Anyway, this rum surprised me.

Sehr leckerer Rum aus Trinidad. Das Fass in Verbindung mit Fruchtkompott und einer eleganten Minznote. Ich bin ja generell auch Fan von einem ordentlichen Alkoholgehalt. Der hier hat mir allerdings etwas zu viel Punch. Deshalb paar Punkte Abzug.

Maybe I don't have the right day to degustate TDL today. Anyway this is the proof for me that higher abv doesn't mean better taste. This is unjustifiably strong for me, and I honestly don't know who actually prefers rum at this kind of strength. Sure, it looks impressive on paper, but that's about it. The rum itself is interesting. The mint is definitely there, but there's also a slightly unusual sweet, herbal note. Still, there's nothing particularly special about it for me, and yes, reducing it with water didn't really add anything extra either.

Wow, was für ein Brett. Ich hatte das Glück ihn auf dem German Rum Festival verkosten zu können und musste mir gleich eine Flasche davon sichern. Schön diese Erfahrung mal gemacht zu haben. Bislang bin ich doch eher in eine andere Richtung geschmacklich aktiv gewesen.

Ein absolutes Brett aus Trinidad. Für mich bisher der beste 2010er TDL, aber auch deutlich fordernder als seine älteren Brüder aus Jahrgängen wie 2002 oder 2003. Dennoch ist dieselbe DNA deutlich erkennbar

Solid bottling. Right after opening, it's predominantly too alcoholic... Hope oxidation will fix that a bit. Ignoring that, you find the expected TDL notes. However, slightly less mint and a bit more spice than usual.
