CoR Impressions III Three Centuries Jamaican Blend 1834
Anyone chasing an old-blend Hampden with the funk turned down and the fruit turned up should look here. The nose reads more Guyana than Jamaica at first — pineapple, prune, sour cherry, a whiff of glue — then the palate lands as a real "Geschmacksbombe": tropical fruit, orange peel over dark chocolate, coffee, and an oily, almost creamy texture. At 64.1% the alcohol stays remarkably well integrated.

Fruity, oily old Hampden blend, funk dialed back The handful of tasters agree it's fruity, oily and beautifully balanced for its strength; a few note the finish fades early and the sample beats owning the bottle.

Interesting blend, where the nose doesn't initially suggest Jamaica. I would have guessed Guyana instead. On the palate, it's a real flavor bomb. The composition is unique and the sample is worth every cent; but I wouldn't buy a bottle for that price. Thanks a lot, Armin!

Thanks to Armin for the sample. I was very surprised tasting this rum, I expected a lot of wood, but I almost didn't get any. It has a lot of butter/ butter caramel, fruits, and some chocolate and moka. Texture is also very nice. Overall a very good rum, but for the price it's not a must try.

Surprisingly much bourbon barrel aroma on the nose, i.e. warm-sweet vanilla, oak wood, butterscotch. You know this from many column still distillates, but here the ripe fruits take over as the primary companion. Spices and bitter notes are only minimally present. On the palate a similar picture, round and accessible, but the Jamaica esters are a bit more present than on the nose. A very harmonious blend, where the sometimes high age of the components is hardly noticeable.

On the nose, soft and sweet wood, plus ripe fruits. I wouldn't necessarily suspect Jamaica here at first. On the palate, it becomes more ester-heavy and intense, with lots of fruit, spice, and considerable depth. Still, the blend remains round and surprisingly approachable. An independent combination that I really like. Despite the quite high age of the components, you find a lot of freshness in the blend.

#7423 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. I was lucky enough to try this rum several times during the WL 😊 Quick notes while tasting. Fruits, spice, roasted wood, molasses, glue, coffee, chocolate.

I chose this rum as an "interesting bottle to open" for this year's gathering of rum friends at our place. Everyone was satisfied, the blend is made very sensitively, and the story of three centuries adds to its charm.

Nose: Hampden is immediately clearly recognizable. Distinct esters, some banana and tropical fruits, along with a nice spiciness and subtle oak. Despite the high alcohol content, the nose feels surprisingly well integrated and not alcoholic. Palate: A sensational sweetness and a very oily, almost creamy texture spread across the entire palate. Tropical fruits, banana, spice, some oak, and a hint of vanilla combine into an incredibly intense but very balanced profile. The esters remain present without overpowering the fruit or balance. Despite 64.1%, the rum feels more like one bottled at a significantly lower proof. Finish: Long, warm, and complex. The tropical fruit stays in the foreground, accompanied by spice, oak, and the oily texture. No annoying bitterness and no unpleasant burn. Overall: An exceptionally lively and excellently balanced Jamaican blend. Compared to Robert Bauer’s HD 1983, it’s noticeably fresher, fruitier, and more dynamic for me due to the young Hampden component. The release price of about €1,000 was already ambitious; at today’s price of around €1,900, it’s too expensive for me. Otherwise, this would be exactly my thing!

A very deep rum, it has a very well-maintained ABV, well integrated, and a blend built to perfection. You have to buy the bottle to best understand every stage of oxygenation. Since it’s a rum with significant aging, you have to wait and dedicate a lot of time to it. Don’t underestimate it 🥃

Amazing Guayana on the nose, nice 1984 Hampdennon taste. Ok - little bit more sharp

3rd bottle of the Impressions series. Very fruity on the nose with pineapple, dried plum, sour cherry. Also a bit of glue. On the palate first a slight bitter sweetness like orange peel with dark chocolate. A slight note of glue and solvent. Alcohol is well integrated. Unfortunately, nothing more comes through on the finish and it only lasts moderately.
