An unshared cask with 11 years tropical aging in an ex-Cognac barrel. Color is amber. Nose quite alcoholic. Clear oak note, plus slight caramel. Not very complex and despite 11 years still doesn't seem settled. On the palate an impression of rather young wood. The rum is also restless in the mouth and comes with a sour fruit. Underneath then slightly mellowing sweetness with noticeable ABV. The finish is medium-long on this sour fruit mixed with woody aromas. With long waiting the alcoholic impression fades somewhat. Still, in my view this bottling is not among the best.

Unfortunately, compared to last year's bottling, I have to say this time it's more of an average rum. On the nose, vanilla and wood notes dominate, while the fruitiness takes a back seat. On the palate, vanilla prevails again, complemented by fruity undertones and a pleasant sweetness. The influence of the cognac cask is also clearly noticeable.
