Absolute power house. Very intense yet not overwhelming as the ABV number suggests. For me so far the best 2007 MM/Clarendon.

#7257 29.08.2026 Tasted at the German Rum Festival 2026. This is a really nice bottling and the price tag is also very good in my mind. My quick notes from tasting. Fruity, spice, pastries, ester, roasted wood, caramel, dry, salt, mint, glue.

Wow. Absolute powerhouse. Despite the nearly 80% ABV, the alcohol is really well integrated and not disturbing or harsh. I also tend to lean towards EMB without knowing for sure. But the typical notes are definitely there. The price is absolutely top and I really like it 👍.

Tasted at the GRF in Berlin and it immediately impressed me. Personally, I would guess EMB, but I'm not sure. What is certain, however, is that this is an absolute great value winner. Alongside a huge amount of tropical fruits, the nose also shows notes of solvents, spices, and varnish – characteristic of Clarendon. On the palate, there is then an explosion of fruity aromas, including candied fruits and marzipan. Slight glue notes, a bit low on esters, and a light menthol accompaniment. Almost 80% ABV, aged 19 years, 15 of those tropical. It really is an exceptional rum.

A real powerhouse. A prime example of a Clarendon, full blast of menthol and mint, yet not one-dimensional. Quite drinkable neat, even though the alcohol pushes hard. If you’re into Clarendon, this one is just right.

Phew, you can definitely notice the almost 80%. The nose is really nice, but on the palate it's too sharp and too cask-heavy for me.

Impressive!! This Clarendon is perfect. The alcohol, despite the proof, is perfectly integrated and it goes down smoothly!! The length on the palate is also top-notch 👍 For the aromas, you clearly get caramel, coconut, slightly candied tropical fruits, a good dose of menthol, almost reminiscent of a TDL. It's harmonious and balanced, with a woody note and varnish/glue at the end of the palate ❤️❤️❤️

I quite like the nose, but on the palate it's pretty brutal. With a few drops of water it opens up a bit, but it still remains quite a cask-heavy affair.

The almost 80% ABV is definitely noticeable, but this rum is still very drinkable neat. On the nose, glue, solvents, tropical fruits, and coconut. On the palate and finish, intense menthol notes come through.

Light brown and clear in the glass. The nose impression is on the woody-spicy side with glue and fruit. Quite a lot of menthol. Full power on the palate. Too hot for my palate nerves. I like the aromatic profile. Here too, a mix of spicy wood with roastiness filled with menthol. But even with water added, this one stays quite untamed. A long finish with full aromatics like on the palate. Although I do like powerhouses, a bit less ABV here would have earned a higher rating from me.

Nose of roasted peach and mango, wood, glue, a nice roastiness. The palate is of great intensity, still roasted, with fruits, wood, and a slight eucalyptus. The alcohol is present, but incredibly well integrated. Long finish on the fruits and roasted wood. Bravo Stefan, this is a top-notch Clarendon! The rating takes into account the crazy value for money of this rum.

On the nose, something reminds me of furniture polish and bad bourbon. The taste is very complex, spicy, mentholated with eucalyptus. In the finish, more menthol and eucalyptus. Actually not really my thing, but after the third sip I have to say it has something. Great product, just not the kind of funk I currently prefer.

I'm not a big Clarendon fan. I've had some very good ones, but most of the time that industrial nail polish note bothers me. However, this one is the shoe polish that makes my Cordovan full brogues shine! Like it a lot!

Well expected new The Bottle Shop Clarendon release. Strong glue, solvents on nose. Some coconut, banana and menthol too. Palate rather minty, eucalyptus perhaps, marcipan, esters, rather alcoholic for me. Medium finish. Minty and glue notes dominant rum.
