Feller Rumreich White Rum Fermented Banana Character 2026
"All about banana with some banana and then banana on top," as one taster put it — and that's the whole idea here. This unaged German pot-still pours pure jelly-banana on the nose, then swerves into something cooling: menthol, peppermint, a note more than one member compares to an ice sweet. Oily on the palate, and at 58.5% the alcohol stays surprisingly well tucked in. A genuine curiosity.

What an awesome and crazy rum. (Chocolate) banana meets mint candy - which sounds absurd but turns out to be a stroke of genius. This experiment is truly successful. I'm already curious about the barrel-aged version.

#7255 29.08.2026 Tasted at the German Rum Festival 2026. Well this is all about banana with some banana and then banana on top. A successful experiment in my mind and I think most can actually enjoy it. My quick notes from tasting. Banana, spice, warm, oily, sweet, floral.

Really cool piece from Germany. Banana through and through. On the nose more like banana jelly, on the palate the pure fruit. However, also slightly sharp and the nose promised more than the palate could deliver. Therefore, more suitable for cocktails.

After all the positive feedback about this bottling, I just couldn't resist... and I wasn't disappointed. It's very special, very fruity, and extremely banana-y. I hadn't had anything like this in my glass before. Combined with the floral, medicinal, and sweet aromas, it's just top-notch. I immediately had to make a Daiquiri... and that's a perfect pairing. It can easily keep up with Savanna HERR and Kilik. Hats off... I need more of this.

Banana, fresh unripe, super

I was very curious about what Werner Huber from Feller has crafted somewhere between the Swabian Regglisweiler and Aruba in the Caribbean. The somewhat awkward name already suggests that the banana is the star here. At first, it’s mainly the jelly banana known from the candy aisle in the supermarket that dominates the aroma. On the palate, a menthol-minty side comes in, some people talk about ice candy. I agree. And I like ice candies. And jelly bananas too. That I can now taste this as a white rum in the glass. Crazy. The innovative character of this bottling can’t be praised enough and I’m really curious what will come in the future. 👏🏻

What did Werner come up with there?! Amazing! I feel like I’ve been transported back years, to 2017, when I first tasted the white Savanna Herr. Back then, it was an incredible, uniquely flavorful rum for me! When I got to try the raw version of the Banana with a much higher ABV a few months ago at Rum Depot with Werner and Dirk, I immediately loved it. I’m all about aromas! This one brings a completely new aroma spectrum to the rum world that I never thought possible. At first, you get overripe, intense banana notes, like Haribo bananas on the palate. Then the aroma suddenly shifts toward menthol and peppermint, clearly like Ice Bonbons. It finishes long on the palate with wonderfully integrated alcohol. Please make more of this! Thanks so much for this aroma bomb!

Oh, what do I have in my glass? I can only agree with the other tasters. Intense smell of chocolate banana on the nose. On the palate, a bit less, but instead, it's totally like Wick Blau/ice candy. Awesome idea and super well done. Something really special 👍 Could totally work in a Daiquiri too 😅

Absolute grenade! After opening the bottle, the room immediately fills with banana. Here the name is program. Jelly banana meets menthol on the nose. Absolutely unique. On the palate, the banana is less intense but present. A cooling freshness dominates like an ice candy. This bottling is really fun. Super done Werner 👌

One of the surprises from GRF this year. An aroma bomb from Germany based on molasses. As others have already described, a mix of banana and ice candy. On the nose, banana dominates; on the palate, ice candy. Plus some solvent notes. Very intense both on the nose and palate. A certain rather light ester sweetness comes through. The finish is only just medium-long despite the load of aromas. A bit more body here and this rum would be an even bigger statement. Tried it after the neat tasting in a modified daiquiri. Exceptional and really good.
